We took a local bus out to Coba to see the Mayan ruins there- less touristy than Chichen Itza, and just wandered around the jungle paths reading the information boards by ourselves. We also took the ferry to Cozumel and visited the cemetery there and the local museum, which had an interesting exhibition on Frida Kahlo.
I'm off to Switzerland for a week to do a few day hikes, Florida for 2 weeks for OH to indulge his theme park fantasies - which is my idea of hell but never mind - and planning a girls week to Portugal/Spanish island to wander round some local historic sites while relaxing.
Hoping to take a couple of weeks off at some point in early autumn to visit more of Eastern Europe - possibly along the lines PompeyPete's train itinerary in Romania, but am open to possibilities. I have a lot of pinterest boards of places to visit for ideas. Also hoping to squeeze in a Christmas markets trip to Munich again as we haven't been there in over a year now "I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Paul Theroux0 -

Make £2024 in 2024...0 -

I did decide to pay £4 each way to chose my seat. Even for 2 hours I don't want a middle seat!
The flight was bought in the Easyjet sale a few days before Christmas. 2 weeks before it was £45, the week before it was £50, then £40 in the sale!0 -
