I have bought a cloned car

The ID that's been cloned has probably been taken from a bent-but-legit car being auctioned at Copart.
Copart helpfully photograph the VIN plate for you, so you only need find the right colour and model and you are sortedI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

What's particularly amusing is that they then star half of it out in the text description.

Mind you, VINs aren't half the state secret people think they are - they're visible to everybody walking past when parked up...
It's also interesting to compare the damage on that CatB with the OP's description on the damage of his CatS. Now, it might be that there's damage to suspension pickups, while the OP's is just panel damage, but that would normally then be CatN.0 -
Car costed me £10k which I knew that will cost me with all repairs , saw 2 ford edges at that time with same miles unrecorded going for about £14.5 -15k so it didnt ring any bells to me as I thought car is recorded and should lose around 40 50 % of its value plus the damage of the car was really bad and being a structural damage , car looked really genuine and looked like its coming from a auction site ( last 3 letters of the reg no was covered with black tape and there was yellow marker writings on the windscreen with lot number , location number etc as in it was bought from an auction !
And Dvla should have not issue me with a logbook , they should have known that there is another car somewhere with same details , becuase like i said in the post somebody else is the legal keeper now with a same car as mine , why didnt they know from begining ??
Guys thank you very much for all your opinions and advice God bless you all !
It should ring bells. I doubt there are many dealers making 40-50% profit on cars.0 -
Indeed.

I bet that is to prevent you using a google search on your VIN to find out when Copart sold it.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Yes, apart from it is a non-runner, (see how they avoid any mention of the engine, and it isn't running in the pictures) it looks like a wing and some T-cut would have that back on the road. Certainly looks a lot better than the usual "light damage" Copart sellI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Best of luck with that, when I bought a cloned car several years ago and mine was the one that had been cloned the police didn't want to know, the comment was we have got the information we will log it but we don't really have time to look into that sir.

The DVLA will have written to the police, at some point they should send a vehicle examiner to look at the car. At that point they may seize it.0
