miss empty piggy do try Hugh FW's store cupboard chickpea curry - it's quick and easy and doesn't involve many ingredients. I tend to make it with red Thai curry paste rather than curry powder. Here's a link... https://www.thepeoplesfriend.co.uk/2018/08/16/hughs-chickpea-ketchup-curry/

Miss Behaving thanks so much - I will head on over there x

EDIT: Just had a look and I will definitely be making this at the weekend. Many thanks Hun x

    Morning all,

    I spent 99p on this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eat-Shop-Save-mealplanners-healthier-ebook/dp/B07CLPWJ8S/ref=pd_rhf_ee_s_msx_wsixn_v1_0_3/259-3209195-4576300?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07CLPWJ8S&pd_rd_r=cacde8c2-2b0d-43af-ba95-1d687886b695&pd_rd_w=YAIgC&pd_rd_wg=jbsQw&pf_rd_p=911f26c3-a54b-43a9-911f-fad380f28632&pf_rd_r=BDQ2QPK1ZB3EPEHW9VAX&psc=1&refRID=BDQ2QPK1ZB3EPEHW9VAX

It’s not part of my grocery budget, but thought it might be useful to someone :D

NSD other than that, Christmas leftovers (again) tonight, simple supper, cheese and crackers, will have a glass or 2 of wine too :D

£18.62 in Aldi, mostly veg needed for my meal plan, was tempted by a 30% off chicken, 30% off lemons and radishes, everything else was on my list taking me up to Wednesday next week, although I do have to factor in a chicken, can`t have it Sunday as been invited out to lunch.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • I've not bought any GC-related things since Saturday - might be my longest streak yet!
I nearly broke it yesterday, as I managed to melt a packet of tortillas into the plastic! Wasn't paying enough attention and turned on the wrong ring on the cooker!!

    Hi all,
I'm going to jump on the January GC a little late if that's okay?
I had a budget of £50 for the month. Its just me, and I was pretty stocked up.
So far I have spent £40.87, leaving me £9.13 for the rest of the month. Ouch!

To be honest though I really don't need much. Of that £50, £6 was spend on my mum at Greggs and £10 on stocking on half price Quorn and reduced marmite. Touching wood, but I could probably have gotten away with less this month if I'd needed to.

Hopefully all I will need is bread and milk, and maybe some fresh veg, for the rest of the month. I also have £1.50 in Tesco vouchers, so that will buy at least 6 pints of milk.

Can I get to the 31st and stay within budget? Who knows? The tension is high and only time will tell!
Live the good life where you have been planted.

£63 spent today between the market & a late dash to the supermarket when the girls announced we were out of green tea, which apparently is a necessity. So I bought a couple more items whilst I was up there, needless to say. But we really shouldn't need much else for the whole of this week - she says, crossing fingers.

That said, I've just realised that for us, this is a 4 week month as payday is 31st, which is a Friday. I do need a dash to the wholesalers at some point, but we're not doing too badly so far, and I need to use stuff up from the freezer.

  • Went shopping today; £16.56 spent. £8.50 of which was on 906g of chia seeds. This will last me ages, though I may get some more before the offer on these stops.
Got 6 jars of vegan mincemeat for just 7p a jar .

The same curry as yesterday, again with FF garlic and coriander naan for my dinner tonight.
OH is having dinner round his parents tonight.

    £132.87/£240.
    £107.13 left
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

Just spent £2.76 in Asda getting apples, pears, milk, and some smartprice squash. I'd hoped to get some water filters as well, but they only had the more expensive Brita ones on the shelf so I'll have to come back another day.
