I'm beginning to feel sorry for the OP. Have a heart; it's Christmas. And his or her slightly naive Q has provided considerable innocent amusement to all the Twelves ** who have responded. So give 'em a break!

It's a fair point, though the initial dozen responses were sensible, unemotional and unanimous. Thereafter the lightheartedness and christmas bonhommie intruded (helped along by the mulled wine!).

Beth has still not logged back in since 5 pm yesterday, so won't have read the various Twelves' contributions. Yet.

  • I asked my solicitor to examine the tenancy agreement, his advise was that my tenant could in fact have a visitor\visitors stay for 7 days after which she would require my permission, which she did not request. By continuing to allow further stays she was in fact breaking the tenancy agreement to which she was a signotary, and if she did not understand the agreement then she should have taken prior advise.
I had printed off and showed the remarks you made, he was quite surprised and disgusted at the bile and vilification, but as he said, barrack room lawyers hiding behind a pc screen, what do you expect.

So what did your solicitor advise you should do if she is breaking the tenancy agreement. You seem to have missed this off.

Hey, I'll have you know some of us are real lawyers hiding behind a pc screen!

Good to know you could get such swift advice from yours on Christmas Eve though.

If your solicitor believes that the clause in your tenancy agreement is actually enforceable then I'd be looking for a different solicitor...
