Guests sleeping over.

The tenancy agreement states "No guests of the tenant will occupy the property for longer than one week without the prior written consent of the landlord" To me now that appears to be very ambiguous.
I've had my new tenant installed for 6 months., All fine for the first 4 months, then her visitors of both sexes began sleeping over, sometimes 3\4 nights on the trot. ,I believe that to be excessive. It's a one bedroom bungalow btw.
I understand we all have guests sleeping over, but I think she believes as long as there is a break from so doing she can then re accommodate them. I've told her I'm happy for the boyfriend to stay Friday\Saturday nights.
Can I ask what would you deem acceptable?
Thank you.
Beth.

Is she a lodger or a tenant? Her own self-contained place or HMO?
If she's a tenant then is it not up to her who she has staying over and when, and not your business at all?
That clause you've quoted seems perfectly clear to me and I would interpret it the same way as your tenant. If indeed she is a tenant. If she's a lodger your house and your rules unless you've accidentally created a tenancy. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
If she's a tenant as you say, based on what you've said, I personally think you're being invasive here and need to take a more than a few steps back.
I don't want to know how you know who's staying over if this isn't a HMO.Know what you don't0 -
Why DO you care?0

7 nights in a row good, 8 nights get permission.I've had my new tenant installed for 6 months., All fine for the first 4 months, then her visitors of both sexes began sleeping over, sometimes 3\4 nights on the trot.I believe that to be excessive.I've told her I'm happy for the boyfriend to stay Friday\Saturday nights. Can I ask what would you deem acceptable?0 -
And to think some landlords wonder why landlords get a bad name...0

Guests is plural.
Does she ever have more than one visitor at a time?0 -
Are her (legal) proclivities any business at all of the landlord?0

If its a 1 bedroom bungalow I am assuming she lives there on here own and has a lease of the whole. Basically it is absolutely none of your business who she has to stay and makes no difference to you at all.
The clause about how long people stay is probably unenforceable in any event. Your only concern is that the place is generally well looked after. As you drafted the ambiguous clause, then you should be aware it will be construed against you to the extent that it is ambiguous.0 -
Can I ask what would you deem acceptable?
I would deem it acceptable for guests to stay less than seven days without the consent of the landlord. Because that's what the landlord has agreed to in the contract.0 -

If not perhaps do some research
Did you know this is likely to trump your unenforceable clause in the tenancy agreement?
Are you aware you could be prosecuted for harassment ?
Note one of the criteria is unnecessary annoyance which for some strange reason you seem to be doing.

I am like everyone else assuming she is not a lodger but a tenent0
