Csg, why would premiums go up if I pay for any repairs out of my own pocket? Maybe even a little extra for the inconvenience
I'm calling it, it's holidays and the troll has come out.
If you don't even understand why premiums would increase, you really need to do some research"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I know a lot of people with licences so I drive quite often. I admit I've got a bit lax with the L plates in the last couple months, I'd say up until the time of the accident I was displaying them 50% of the time. I have also driven unsupervised a few times but don't make a habit of it.
Wow.
Its nice to see our army are recuiting honest, law abiding citizens with a solid moral compass
So aside from the obvious, who supervised you in the vehicle after you had dropped your colleague off at her house?
I hope you have notified your insurer of the accident regardless of whether it goes to claim or not. Most policies require this & they will not be impressed if they find out from the 3rd party and not you. They could refuse to insure you ever again & there are other implications see link below.

The issue here and I think is being picked up by other posters is that you only think you have done something wrong because you had an accident and may lose your career.
Had you not have hit the other car you would presumably have continued as you were putting lives of other road users & your passengers at risk0 -
A few of you should really think about stepping off your soap box and stop judging everything about me from one Internet thread.
We've established I was in the wrong. I wasn't complying with the law, and you can't argue with the law.
Will saying I wasn't displaying L plates at the time cause me to receive a ban or conviction?0 -

With 6 points and zero driving experience on a full licence, you're unlikely to get insurance from any of the mainstream insurers for at least 5 years after you've passed your test.
It also means that *any* penalty points (even a single speeding ticket) in the two years following your driving test will mean you get an instant disqualification (since you will be over 6 points in the probation period).
Having 6 points also means many employers won't let you drive their vehicles since their insurance will exclude anyone with that many points.0
