Apple online order

  • Also, that’s what I don’t understand either, they said that I haven’t been billed for the order but the payment is still pending and they have said they won’t drop the pending transaction for 2 days, which confuses me because why do they need to wait 2 days until they can drop it if they cancelled the order?

  • As far as I’m concerned, it’s not right, I don’t care who lived here before and their credit check, you can’t refuse someone’s order because of that reason it’s pathetic. I’ve not applied for credit, I am paying with cold hard cash. So why don’t they carry out their checks BEFORE they reserve the funds from my account, and everyone saying it’s only reserved, I can’t spend it can I? So what am I going to do, just BUY another one and hope for the best. It’s ridiculous and I am going to complain about it anyway
They can refuse someone's order if they have reason to doubt their ability to pay. They're perfectly entitled to do that as you are entitled to shop elsewhere if you don't like Apple's way of working.

Your annoyance is misplaced. They've done nothing wrong in refusing your order. What they may have done wrong is to put your money out of reach unreasonably, but I'm not completely clear that the problem is with them. It may be with your bank. Before you complain, I would establish just where the fault lies. You have no grounds for complaining that they cancelled your order.

I’d be really annoyed at them.

They have made it clear they do not want your custom, so why this talk of buying another one?? Go spend your money on a different brand. Apple products are generally a rip off - you pay for the name and not the quality.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Also, to anyone who reads and replies to the thread, I would like you to put yourself in my shoes and think seriously. If you were in a situation where you lost lots of money and we’re unsure when you were getting it back, for a product that you haven’t even had, you would be rightfully angry, especially 6 sleeps before Christmas. Thanks guys :)

The money side of it wouldn't really bother me at all. I use a credit card for all online spending so if they reserved £119 on my credit card it wouldn't effect met at all. So maybe you should consider using a credit card from now on if having a small amount such as that reserved causes you stress.

I have had it before with pending transactions reducing available money incorrectly and it always sorts itself out after about a week.

The reason they refused it is they are probably not confident enough that someone else isn't using your card to make the purchase fraudulently (you said they had issues at that address before). So if they send it out and it turns out to be fraudulent then they will get a charge back and loose out because they didn't take proper care. So that's why they are being strict and cancelling the order.

The money being reserved is unfortunately due to how the banking systems work. Even if they payment went through the retailer doesn't actually get the money for a few days, which is why it shows as pending for a few days in your account.

It's very clear the OP isn't financially astute from her previous posts.

It is also clear that Apple customer service are making up the reasons this happened as they talk to the OP
The OP will likely never find out the truth but apple fear a chargeback owing to the OPs unfortunate Credit History and the OP should just move on

I had to cancel a warranty from Dell
It took them 5 days to process and another 5 days to send the money back

Or understandably they are trying to be helpful and answer the OP and giving reasons why it might happened as they don't definitively know the reason it happened in the OP's particular case.
