A couple of MSE things today which have been hanging around on the to do list and, of course, took much less time to do than to procrastinate about.
I changed my aud ible membership from monthly to annually and saved £80. I've opted for 2 credits a month as I keep running out of credits and buying a credit mid month. I used personal spends and I'll try to remember to find a good use for the £7.99 each month that I won't be paying.
I reinstated our simply cook spice kit boxes. I got the first box free for re-joining. We really like these spice kits and they usually give us our inspiration for a Friday night treat meal.

What a lovely 24/hours we have had where things appeared to be going wrong but were pulled back from the edge of a blackcat strop and turned into something fabulous. Let me elaborate. Last November we booked concert tickets for a favourite artist of mine (far less of a favourite with MrBC who has even used the word dirge in relation to some songs). I also booked a hotel for the night and have had a few upselling emails offering me the chance to upgrade our room for a mere £67 or add dinner for"just" £35 a head.
so we set off to our nearest seaside town, which we rarely visit because of its continuous traffic jams and lack of any parking, let alone affordable parking. Arrived at the hotel and MrBC manoeuvred the car into the hotel's last remaining car park space. No wonder no one else attempted it, it was wonky, small and had a huge concrete pillar but amid a cacophony of the very unhappy car sensors he squeezed in. We went to check in and there was no record of our booking! I had confirmation info and emails but it appears there was a glitch between ex pe dia and the hotel. The receptionist was fabulous and upgraded us to a suite, gave us free breakfast and waived the £28 (yes £28 🥴) parking fee). The concert was fabulous, probably better than I'd hoped for and MrBC enjoyed it too.
so this morning we sat on our balcony overlooking the sea, drinking tea and feeling very happy. an hour's drive and we are home.8 -
So pleased it all worked out in the end. Sounds like a fabulous evening was had too, especially if Mr BC enjoyed it despite his reservations. When we went to see Step into Christmas Mr SA was adamant he’d hate it and he ended up loving it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Phew and hurrah! Do make sure to give the hotel a very good review and put in a complaint to ex pe dia! Do we get a clue as to the artist? 😁1

thank you @Sun_Addict and @Makingabobor2 - getting upgraded almost never happens to us. I had a vision of being given an attic room overlooking the dustbins so it was a fabulous surprise.
PIP - yes reviews done. I've tried to have sensible communication with x pee dia but have so far only managed to get one rung up from the chatbot. Here's an ear worm clue for you

I realised yesterday that I need to get a wiggle on with the 2 handmade gifts I'm working on for a grandson's birthday. I've been casually making progress but the date of birth is an immovable target which won't wait for me to do my least favourite job of sewing up the knitted jumper.
However,I finished the car blanket yesterday. DGS loves being cosy so this blanket is so he can tuck himself in when he's in his car seat.
