What a lot of lovely things to look forward to 😊1

@lucielle - my gardener and your builder could be one and the same person. After all there are only avfew hundred miles between your house and mine.
Yes indeed PIP we are feeling very fortunate to be able to do so many nice things.
small money saving win today when I made a cake using up another hotel pilfered mini marmalade and the dregs of a jar of lemon curd. I'm calling it St Clement's cake which makes it sound very posh.
money spending at the local cafe after swimming. Spending came from eating out budget pot and we enjoyed sitting and chatting watching the world go by. It's much more cost effective to have brunch at the cafe rather than lunch at the pub so I think we might make this a treat every few weeks. The place was really busy which was good to see as the staff are so cheerful and friendly. . My goodness the size of some of the breakfasts!3 -
Brunch out, especially on a weekday when everyone else is busy, feels like such a treat.
I hope yours was tasty.

Satsuma time was special when we were kids, wasn't it? Can remember Mum bringing them home from the shops early November & they felt much more of a treat.

@KeepOnKnitting - you are right about a decadent weekday brunch. I had omelette and salad and a few chips from OH's plate which, of course, don't count as calories.
@foxgloves - I still think a satsuma can't be beaten. I really can't be bothered with so called easy peelers that are usually anything but easy to peel.
last preps for holiday were done today. I'd ordered my traditional Body Shop holiday treat of shower gel, body yoghurt, shampoo and conditioner. The parcel duly arrived and contained 10 shave creams, 10 camomile cleansers, a handcream and a Himalayan charcoal face scrub 😳. Very helpful and cheerful lady at The Body Shop said I could keep this order and is sending the items I did actually order. Will be handing out some shave creams and cleansers to family!
I've assembled a bag of provisions from home to take with us - tea bags, coffee, cereals, ketchup and fruit. Making sandwiches and flasks in the morning. Very excited to have a change of scene and to hopefully get some Autumn sunshine by the sea.

Thank you PIP.
The pouring rain has miraculously disappeared and the sun is shining brightly.
we are relaxing in the conservatory of our holiday house. 3 hours travel door to door which is just right.
