We've been back from holiday for a couple of days after a thoroughly enjoyable week away.  Amazing how refreshed we feel.  The cat is being very affectionate which is sweet but 5 am is probably a bit early for him to plonk himself on the bed and start purring and padding.

    thanks to @Makingabobor2 I've set up a 7 day re-set -

    take vitamins/supplements every day
    swim x 3 days
reduce carbs (a bit) this is more for MrBC than me
reduce snacking (a lot) this is definitely me
drink plenty of water and no alcohol 🥹

unfortunately our dishwasher went bang last night, actually it was more of a smoulder but a definite smell of burning.  Currently researching a replacement which my son in law will fit.  Why is it so hard to spend money from savings pots even if that's the whole point of the pots?

Fingers crossed this  could be the week when the garden room is finally finished!  It's nearly there and we sat in it this afternoon with a cuppa.  Must say that it feels surreal that it's almost finished and useable.

  • Would love a garden room. We often talk about turning the bottom end of our dining room into one. Dining room is an extension, so single story. Was done by previous owners. We don't use it that often, as eat in kitchen unless we have guests. But even then we could get away with a room half the size.

  • Sorry about your dishwasher. I have a B3k0 one that seems to run really well.

@lucielle - will definitely post a pic when the final t*tivations are done to the outside.  All the furniture will be going in by the end of next week - by hook or by crook!  Temporary sofas are in place and we've been relaxing here for an hour or so.

thank you for the dishwasher info @savingholmes

well Monday has been a nice day - dancercise followed by a tea in the leisure centre cafe.  I drink really weak tea and the lady in the cafe often says "I can't charge you for that!".  I point out that it's still the same basic ingredients just used differently but it was a free cuppa this morning.  Brunch in the cafe, delights of Lidl, some ironing and changing bed linen then more tea and time catching up with diaries.  It's a tough life. 😉  Oh and a few surveys - mostly for a few pence but I'm determined to try to get to £40 this month for the Christmas pot.

Welcome home 🙂 My mom used to drink really weak tea. I used to say she frightened the water briefly with a tea bag 😆 Exciting that the garden room is nearly done.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Love the idea of "frightening the water". I hate tea - but to each their own.

Looking forward to news of the finished project.

  • I used to have a boss who drank ludicrously weak tea - I used to briefly show his cup the tea bag before dropping it in to supplement mine!

Glad you had a fab holiday and that the work at home is now mostly finished. The garden room sounds like such a nice thing! I am also now with you on not minding returning home from holidays as well - amazing what having a house you love does isn't it!
