What a dance class we would be - facing anyway we want to doing whatever steps we want to and hopefully @cheerydaff will have a knitted leotard, headband and leg warmer pattern we can use so we really look the part.
we are away on the Wight isle for a few days staying in a cosy self catering apartment. The owners organised v cheap ferry crossings for us and the cost of the apartment is very reasonable. The weather today has been glorious and we had brunch by the sea in warm sunshine. I had "eggs and greens" - poached eggs on sourdough, asparagus, spinach, avocado and pea shoots - utterly yummy. Mr BC had a breakfast bap but managed to eat some of my asparagus and avocado. We haven't needed to eat for the rest of the day and tonight we are cooking steak, baby potatoes and garlic mushrooms using smoked garlic from the garlic farm. Yesterday we had "kaa" sandwiches - just dropping in my new found Swahili language skills.
in actual MSE news - both regular savers are topped up for March. I will start another FD saver in May when austerity months are over - i appreciate fresh, local kaa sandwiches are not exactly austerity food but fortunately the holiday pot was ready and waiting to pay for this trip.
It's my last language learning survey session today. I really hope that they test me on crab, kiln, grave and horse. I could be top of the class 🥳.

Enjoy your trip.
Learning Swahili sounds interesting. What made you choose it?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@savingholmes - my new language skills were part of a survey exercise on prolific. it was about how best to learn languages so I guess that swahili is a language that few people are likely to have any prior knowledge of. Although it was entirely anonymous I did find myself wanting to do well in the tests and wishing that I could revise - once a girly swot always a girly swot I suppose.anyway the 5 part survey has boosted my prolific earnings. I usually cash out mid-month but because I've been on holiday I think I'll keep going and wait til I get to £50 to cash out. I'll put £25 into the holiday pot to start to rebuild that again and £25 into Christmas pot which is a bit behind where it should be at this time of year. I keep reminding myself that from the end of May our budget will ease and there will be opportunities to save but I must admit I'm finding it tough to limp through austerity Spring. Need to remember that this is temporary and part of a longer term plananother lovely day on the IoW - including lunch at a former railway station where even the doggie menu looked appetising. then a walk along the disused railway track which was really pretty.I'm looking forward to staring April's budget with a fresh focus on enjoying life and having fun whilst spending thoughftully and sensibly.5

What an interesting and unusual survey. I keep getting ones for “older workers” and public sector employees - guilty on both counts 😆
Sounds like you’re having a lovely time on IoW. Enjoy 😊I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
That survey sounds fascinating. Love your plans for your reward.

@lucielle - the doggie menu had nibbles (sausages) starters (a treat bag), main course and doggie ice cream. there was a dog in the booth behind us who was being encouraged to behave nicely so they could have their ice cream! I'm not a big fan of dogs in restaurants but as it was set up as booths the dogs were very unobtrusive.@sun-addict - the surveys I get sent seem to follow a similar pattern too. I don't mind as they are often interesting and the payments seem to add up.another nice day today. we are heading home tomorrow but stopping off at family on the way (the nice part of the family). they are doing a pizza night - bring your own toppiings to share which will be fun. we've gone for traditional toppings but I've heard talk of a curry based topping making an appearance. not sure about that but will wait and see.we've probably come out about on budget for a 5 day trip. we filled up with petrol today so that could be included as holiday spends or as day to day spends. likewise there are some bits of food that we will be taking home that will help with grocery spends next week.all in all we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found plenty to do that doesn't cost a fortune. I'm feeling energised and have already started on next week's to do list.5
