@savingholmes - the knitted knickers were definitely of another era.
@[Deleted User] - lovely to see you. That particular part of our family are - well words fail me!
Went to dancercise this morning and strategically positioned myself so I wasn't behind the same lady as last week. She is so enthusiastic but each arm and each leg are not quite in harmony with themselves or the instructor or the music. However we all have great fun and an hour of dancing to disco and Motown music is a much nicer way to start the week instead of ploughing through emails and joining teams meetings which I was doing this time last year.
we had planned a trip out to a local landscape park near us but it was a mizzly day so we stayed home and pottered about which was very enjoyable. I used my time to tidy up the sideboard and my goodness there were a lot of candles, wax melts, tea lights etc in there. I also found a wax melter that I'd forgotten about and we are using that tonight with a souced orange melt. Feels like a nice new accessory,

Do love a nice candle. I have quite a big one that had tunnelled, tried wrapping it in foil but I think it’s too far gone

I'm actually (finally) running a bit short of candles - we have tealights still, not not many larger ones. We do have some salvaged wax though, and I'm certain we also still have some of the wicks I bought a while back so with luck we might be able to create some more - that might be a job for the weekend, perhaps.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Love a candle. Ha, that lady you speak of at the front would be me - I have zero co-ordination!!1

@lucielle , @EssexHebridean and @savingholmes - a nice candle or wax melts are such a treat for me and I used to buy lots of them, start to use them then start another, then buy another and start that and so on and so on. I was surprised at how many I still had because I've been trying not to buy more. I do get them as gifts though. Anyway I'm enjoying my shopping from home from the candle cupboard. Geranium leaf scent tonight. I wasn't sure I'd like it but it's really nice - a bit like sitting in a Mediterranean courtyard garden.
@I_Love_comps - hello and lovely to meet you. Please feel free to join in. I really credit this diary with enabling me to get into a position where I was able to retire early which was my dream when I started posting. I'm much more focussed and sensible with money than I ever used to be. Definitely not perfect but much improved. I'm so happy to have the freedom to enjoy time with family and friends now that I no longer have to work. I don't feel like I go without things because I probably bought too many things in the past - eg candles 😉
@[Deleted User] - you would fit in very well with Monday morning dancercise - lots of limbs flailing around but lots of fun.
this week has flown by - such a cliche but I really don't know how I had time to go to work! We've been busy doing bits and bobs for my dad which he's appreciative of. He treated us to a curry last night which we really enjoyed and brought the leftovers home with us to form the starting point of tonight's tea. I'm feeling nervous though as MrBC has naga hot vindaloo 🤯.We are away next week for a few days and all the costs including cat care were covered by our holiday savings pot. It's down to under £100 in there now but our May holiday to the Channel Islands is already paid for.
I've made a few £'s doing surveys this week including a 5 part survey which runs over a few days. I wonder if any other MSE chums are attempting to learn some words in another language? I now know how to say crab and carpet if I'm ever in certain parts of East Africa!
apparently dinner is served - it's gonna be spicy!!3 -
Best of dinner luck to you and Mr BC.
I thought of you both when I saw that bay of E are putting their sellers fees up, so might be worth prioritising sorting and listing any higher value items (or particularly annoying items you want gone) with enough time to sell before you get a smaller cut

Away for a few days now you know how to say crab and carpet in parts of East Africa? Blimey, you're a dedicated survey respondent 😁2 -
I would also be the random waver of uncoordinated limbs. I wish I had any sense of timing whatsoever. I hide in the back row (at home) and try not to fall over the cats.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I too am very uncoordinated.
Good that you are enjoying your previous purchases - the worst thing is when you don't even like it any more or it has gone past any reasonable use by date and spoiled.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
