I saw that stew on the app too and saved it to favourites. I’ve made something very similar before and it was delicious.

  • I don't think wearing knitted knickers would be anyone's idea of fun - organised or otherwise!

@Sun_Addict - the stew was very nice.  OH would usually feel a bit hard done buy when there's no meat on a meal but he said he would definitely make it again so I'm counting that as a winner.
@EssexHebridean - I think you are probably right about knitted knickers.  I had knitted and crochet dresses when I was a little child but fortunately never had matching knickers.

February ended with an underspend of £245.23 which I'm pleased with.  It's a combination of grocery underspend, general underspend and money leftover in personal spends.  As we are in our austere 3 month time I'm going to put it back into the contingency pot.
the 1p a day Christmas challenge x 2, and our grandchildren savings pot will get paid as usual from March's money.  Personal spends will be allocated as usual.

so I'm feeling much better about all things MSE - strange how trying to ignore money things doesn't work anymore and made me feel worse.

No spend day again today.  We had a quiet morning at home and then went to watch a grandchild's football match this afternoon.  Fortunately the rain that the forecast promised held off but it was perishing cold.  A 5 1 win to his team was a great result.

dinner was meatballs from the freezer with a homemade tomato sauce and pasta.  Used up a pepper from the fridge and a couple of tomatoes, a leftover rasher of bacon and the end of a jar of olives.  Heating is on, fairy lights are on and I'm ready to do some more crochet.  What a wild Friday night!

  • That's a great underspend, glad you're feeling better about mse things.

Enjoy your wild night you rebel

I ended up making my tried and tested peanut stew as it involved spinach which I had in stock but will definitely try the Lid! version. I didn’t have peanut butter but used peanut protein powder. I didn’t have any peanuts either but didn’t feel I missed out 😆

    That’s a fantastic underspend for February 👏

    Excellent underspend, well done!

I did actually knit a pair of knickers once 😂😂 It started at a party, and we found a pattern from the 1950s 😂 I got as far as the crotch, and the pattern said, I kid you not, "continue for 24 inches" 😂😂😂 I made it to about 12 before getting bored, and couldn't be bothered with the back, so improvised a thong 😂😂

We have pictures of somewhere of several people wearing them over their trousers 😂😂

@Cheery_Daff - if anyone was going to knit knickers then I could have guessed it might be you.  😉 A 24 inch crotch sounds like a remarkably generous crotch.  There is no way of having this conversation without it being full of innuendo and I dread to think what @PennysIntoPounds will add to the chat.  🤦‍♀️

Spent £10 today on paint colour sample pots for our spring decorating project.  Glad that we did because the colour that was my favourite on the colour chart was my least favourite on the wall.  Other than that, no other spends.

I've got a very tedious official admin job to complete this weekend and according to the form its now 65% complete.  Trouble is most of that is the easy questions requiring a no or not applicable answer.  Will crack on with it again tomorrow.  It coincides with the tedious job of sewing up my knitting project.  I'm itching to start a new garment which I've already got the wool for but I know if I don't finish the other one now I will probably never complete it.  One sleeve and 2 side seams to go.  Will report back when it's done.
  • I have nothing to add to "A 24 inch crotch sounds like a remarkably generous crotch", sniggering too much 😂

Good finding out about the wall colour before it turned into spendy despair!

Do you have to finish the knitting project if you're not enjoying it any more? Well done on the tedious admin task progress, you can absolutely get this done by the end of tomorrow. Bribe yourself with nice breaks at certain percentages done
