SA - the backdrop of Dubai looks fabulous for the Rick workouts - especially on a grey November evening.

it's certainly easier to keep a sense of perspective at work when there is a countdown to freedom clock ticking.  It never ceases to amaze me how adults can behave in such childlike ways at work - so transparent.  My drama queen is definitely worthy of an Oscar nomination for this week's performances.  I'm actually a big softie who sees the best in everyone but even I find myself unmoved by the behaviour.  The drama triangle of victim/rescuer/persecutor is flourishing in my office but stepping outside and observing is fascinating.

I'm enjoying June as we've got lots of concerts and activities to enjoy which were paid for a while ago.  (in some cases 2 years ago but postponed because of the dreaded virus) However, I do wish that biting insects would look elsewhere at outdoor events and not hone in on my ankles 🦟

At a previous job, my boss once had his boss say something as there was a slight professional disagreement. Just one of those things that happens and comes with the territory. It really wasn’t a big deal. Anyway, he took it personally, said nothing to anyone, flounced off at lunchtime and didn’t return until the next day.

Mind you he also had a very childish feud with one of his team and they both refused to be in the same room as each other. It was like being with a pair of 8 year olds rather than fully grown adults!

I'm glad you are finding positive ways to spend your free time.

Work drama will soon fade once you've left. I've had people like that at work from time to time - everyone is glad when they eventually leave - and then it often comes out that they were bullying a much wider group than was known.

Queen Jess - you are so right, my colleague is behaving like an 8 year old, even to the point of being really nasty and then being overly nice again - I remember my children and their chums going through the "I'm not your friend anymore" closely followed by "you are my best friend".
SavingHolmes you are probably right too - I think this individual is creating a lot of collateral damage as they sulk, flounce and squeeze out their crocodile tears.
Goodness me, I sound horrid ....

I've had a lovely week with 2 outdoor concerts in glorious sunshine.  Met up with friends for the shows and we shared communal picnics.  Everyone, including the performers, seemed happy to be there and determined to have fun.

In budget related news, the cats have gone over their budget as a result of buying 3 months" flea treatment.  They seem to be as bothered about budgetary constraints as I used to be back in the day 😺

other budget pots are doing ok so far this month.

I paid an extra £200 off the council tax which entitled me to colour in 3 leaves and 2 flowers on my motivational 1% tree.

I love the tree idea may have to come up with something similiar as like you I like anything physical where I can tick off or colour in.

Flexi retirement of 2 days sounds a good way to ease yourself into it and give you a bit more income whilst adjusting to the new way of life. One of my colleagues is doing something similiar. They retired about 6 weeks ago and are coming back on short term contract 2 days a week as they got bored.

You don't sound horrible at all. Some people are drama queen or the male equivalent.

Thank you Alchemilla and Sarahwithlove - I'm not very artistic but even I can manage a tree (it looks like a primary school child's interpretation but it motivates me).  Previously I had a sweetie jar outline and drew and coloured in sweets as I paid off 1% 😀

I went to the cinema this afternoon for the first time in ages and ages.  Saw Top Gun Maverick - I was a bit unsure as I never saw the original (much to the consternation of my friends).  They assured me that wouldn't matter and they were right 🤣.  I enjoyed it - there were no surprises or nothing too complicated to grasp and it felt like a decadent way to spend a Monday afternoon.  However, I'm left wondering why it's apparently so easy to steal fighter planes?  I'd thought that they would be kept locked !!!!

Anything that motivates you is worth a try. Breaking something down into 1% increments is a great way not to be overwhelmed by a larger figure.

I’ve heard really good reports about Maverick. I remember watching the original.

🤣🤣 to your cats going over budget.
