@Blackcats - like you we generally eat lunch out rather than dinner as it is usually so much cheaper. It also means we can use public transport! If we go out in the evening one of us has to drive as there are no buses after 6pm where we live which really makes socialising difficult!

@Blackcats I use the Gu pot dishes for beating eggs in and serving small portions of dips etc for crisps or pittas etcFollow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

Thank you SH. I'm going to focus this week on a range of little self care things - nothing too onerous
body lotion after shower
Jewellery every day (sparkle and shine) 💍
A few cups of green tea a day
increase water consumption
wine only on Friday and Saturday
increase veg and fruit intake - making more healthy choices and less sugary snacks (wish me luck with that!)Exercise - add in 5/10 minutes a couple of times a day. I really enjoy get fit with Rick and find myself smiling throughout
I've got a fitness app that was free with Voda ☎️ which includes stretches and meditations which I enjoy
joedenise - that makes sense with the public transport. There's something quite decadent about having lunch out whilst the 9 to 5 is underway
thanks miss RickiC - hope you and baby are thriving. I'm making a duo of puddings when friends visit at the weekend (how lah di da!) so I'm using the gu pots for a lemon posset and mini Elton mess.
budget wise, May was expensive but mostly budgeted for, however, the first sight of the credit card balance made me gulp. Several adjustments needed which made it much better .... £200 from holiday budget to pay for ferry, £230 from appliances pot - trying to look on the bright side, and remind myself that the new appliance should save energy in the long run. Then £100 for youngest blackcat who developed a limp and hobbled around causing his humans to feel very guilty. Vet didn't know what caused it so he had a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory and, touch wood, is fine now. Cats aren't insured as we didn't know how old one was when we rescued him. So far it's been ok.2 -
Good luck with the self care, a necessity to be honest. I love Get Fit with Rick. I can also recommend the FitOn app, it’s free and has every workout you could possibly want, various durations to suit.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Your self care plans and desserts sound great! Sorry about your cat having an injury but glad he seems on the mend x1

Thank you SunAddict - it was your recommendation that got me started with the lovely Rick.
thanks SA and MissRickiC - the cat is absolutely fine now - poor chap really tugged on the heartstrings with his limping and hopping around.
self care today went well, 3 short bursts of exercise, a walk, ok with water and another no alcohol day (to be honest I don't usually drink Monday to Thursday anyway but no Prosecco last weekend was unusual.
have been playing with numbers to work out what annual pension and lump sum combination I want. Lots of figures on a couple of pages in my notebook - will tidy it up and check my sums tomorrow and think some more. Very exciting and very real now. The difficult person in my team at work is creating havoc - attention seeking, high drama and a smattering of fibs - so childish. Helps to know that I'm walking away soon ...
that helps a lot!!!4 -
My work line manager is moving to Dubai in August (lucky her) and I told her to look out for Rick doing his walking workouts on the promenade 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I hate it when people create unnecessary drama - especially when they add lies into the mix. You'll be out of there before you know it and living a life of freedom.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
