I haven’t used olio yet. Sounds like you had a lovely walk and lunch.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

That's exactly my plan for our energy account too, @Blackcats - to build up as much credit as possible before October to help offset the increases. It's all we can do, really.

Thank you for popping by.
I've got through what would have been my mum's 90th birthday. Her friend arranged a Mass for her and then I went with a few of her friends for coffee and cake. The WI certainly make good cakes. The plant I bought her a few years ago for her birthday has flowered right on time - I was worried it wouldn't this year but it's burst into flower in the last few days.
some money tidying tomorrow ahead of payday this week. I think a couple of my savings pots are close to their cap so I might fill one of them this month and the other next month as that feels quite motivating.

Sounds great on the savings front.
Glad you were able to celebrate your Mum's life and talk with friends. Lovely that the plant flowered on time. It sounds like it brought comfort.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you SH and RP - I'm pleased to have got through another "first" since the death of my mum.
We benefitted from an oca doh voucher this week which came as part of my dad's shopping. A fancy pasta, gu pudding and a bottle of Prosecco which is £20 full price but voucher gave £10 off. We had the pudding yesterday, pasta tonight and fizz is lined up for Friday night. I wouldn't have paid £20 for it but have enjoyed having it as something different. It was a pea and mint ravioli - quite tasty and we said that we could imagine it in a large white bowl, drizzled with balsamic, scattered with basil and served as an expensive starter in a gastropub.Pay day tomorrow 😀2 -
What a lovely idea to have a plant that flowers in time for an anniversary.Those Gu puddings are so dangerous, but so delicious!2025 decluttering: 5,256 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟🌟2025 use up challenge: 406🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Big kitchen declutter challenge 137/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 5001

How heart warming that the flowers opened at the right time @Blackcats
Here with you getting through firsts without my mum, I had a picture of her present during the weekends happenings which brought about a sense of calm I guess.Follow here for the daily life of an ADHD mum with 2 children and a new mortgage to pay

I agree Queen Jess the puddings are yummy - I've now got a stash of glass dishes from them - too good to throw away but not actually used.
miss RickiC - it's tough for you, I'm glad you were able to find calm and that you had a photo of your mum with you. It must be a very emotional time for you.
wandered off meal plan tonight and wandered to local pub with a buy 1 main get 1 free voucher. We enjoyed ourselves and not cooking and clearing up was a nice treat. The eating out budget this month is now virtually at £0 - it's always been an area of spends for us which whilst its not back up to pre covid levels is a generous budget. We've adapted by using vouchers, having soft drinks, brunch instead of dinner so we still enjoy eating out but are spending less than half of our previous unplanned, self indulgent, not always enjoyable dinners.
