No a bank claim for fraudulent use of a card when using friends and family cannot be defended with proof of postage or delivery as there is no seller protection -
Note we are talking where a card has been used to fund a PayPal purchase here. If the paypal account is funded by a DD then thee is not recourse via your bank.
Well worth knowing.
I never mentioned FRAUD. I was talking about DISPUTING, which would have to be for non reciept Which via Visa/Mastercard would require paypal to provide a signature to prove delivery. The only basis it can be contested.
No bank would take this as fraud, unless buyer lied to them and said they had never ordered anything and their account was paypal hacked.
Re the above. This is what I do on a day to day basis.
Paypal actually tell people who have been duped into paying via F&F that they can not assist but to call their bank and ask for a chargeback. Paypal do not contest these and then reclaim the funds from the seller.Life in the slow lane0 -

As I said. If they go via their bank to action a chargeback PayPal do not contest when friends & family payments are used to avoid PayPal charges for goods.
So as it is via the bank Visa/Mastercard rules are what matters. And for non receipt the only defence is to have something signed for.
You have missed the point. The majority of banks/card merchants do not allow a chargeback when a user has gone through a merchant processor (ie PayPal) so therefore you are at the mercy of the processor and Paypal do not support F&F with their seller protection.0
