DCBL letter

I have had letter from this crowd. This was for a parking ticket that occurred in Scotland 6 years ago. It was never announced back then to another company who was driving the car. All letter were ignored . The car is no longer owned by me .

What do I do? Continue to ignore or take action?

Scotland 6 years ago. Good luck with that. The time limit for court action is 5 years in Scotland.

    What does this letter say?

I think it's fair to say that DCBL are pretty clueless.

DCBL .... IT TIMED OUT A YEAR AGO

It said it had been passed to them . A further £70 has been added. Also contravention date 28/11/2013 .

So it's over 6 years. Also I believe the car on date that was being used for a disabled person and had a disability card .

Tell them to FRO, and if they continue to allege a debt exists, despite it bein statue barred, you will go to scottish trading standards about their misleading and aggressive trading practices.

Tell them they have no further cause to process your data and they should delete it. Failure to do so will result in a complaint to the ICO.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Co-incidentally my wife has received a letter from dcbl 10 minutes ago. The date she is alleged to have contravened is 15/01/2014- in England. It too has added costs of £70+vat so total to pay of £169.

Does she need to pay or is the case the same as above?

    Thanks

This is a completely different issue then. You are much better off starting a new thread and giving as much detail as possible.

Great fun. The added costs are abuse of process by DCBL
What does the letter actually say ?

You only have to wait until 16/01/20 for this to time out

Seems DCBL are being passed stuff from the rubbish bin
  • So what would I do if they appear at my door? I have sent a form on their website anonymous saying that this claim is not valid and is out of date and to remove all my information from their database and if anyone turns up at my door i will charge them as its fully owned land.

Can I call the police on them?
