hmmmmm
whats the difference between settled and up to date? Why do they have closed accounts for all my accounts in that section but up to date for this one.
What is the reason behind it? I assumed it may lead lenders to think it still maybe active0 -

No they will still see the account status as closed.
The difference is not worth thinking or bothering about.
The status has changed becuase the lender has reported as such, so you should be contacting them not the CRA0 -
The status on all other agencies are correct and reported as closed .Its just transunion who are messing me about so it seems the lender has reported it correctly. I have contacted them aswell and they confirm to me what i already said0

So quick update - The useless bunch at transunion who havent got a clue have now decided to remove my loan that was settled in 2017 completely from my credit report. ITs not even showing in my closed accounts anymore!
First of all - can they do this legally? I thought it was six years. I need that on my report, it was a big loan and no missed payments!
Second of all - Transunion are a complete bunch of monkeys who do not have a clue0 -
As the balance of the loan presumably shows as 0 I can't see that it matters if it is shown as settled or up to date. There is nothing adverse about up to date.
Regarding the notice of correction, how did it get there if you didn't authorise it? Only you can add a notice of correction to your credit files.
At least the removal has sorted out the problem. As the account has been reported to the other CRA's, just imagine it had never been reported to Transunion in the first place.0 -

Yes the balance was 0 - you are right in hindsight i should have left it. It was me being picky. But it just looked odd showing up to date instead of settled when every other account was settled. I did not add it, but it seems now anytime you dispute data the CRA automatically add a notice of dispute. Ive had this with every experian, equifax and transunion. Its just a standard procedure, you have to tell them to remove it and they will. Its just annoying the amount of times ive had to call/email to remove the Notice of Dispute.
Regarding the account out of my credit report, i guess because transunion isnt as popular as equifax and experian it doesnt matter as much. However, point is that was a big loan for 6k no missed payments and settled after 4 years. That looks good on my credit report and its worth having on there.
I cannot believe the removed it. Ive emailed them to move it back and i will be contacting the ICO.0 -
They won’t remove accounts unless the creditor tells them so.
Likewise they don’t add NOC’s unless you ask them to - it’s not a “default thing” they do with every dispute.0 -
Transunion have been difficult with me for the last month and a half. The lender did not tell them to remove the account, ive had this confirmed. It also makes no sense why the lender would do this, especially only for one CRA and not the others
As for the NOC, . Ive made about 8 or 9 disputes in the past three months with all three CRA. They have all added NOC automatically the moment i have raised a dispute and all told me it its added by default once a dispute is raised. Ive had to email them to tell them to remove it before they do. They all said it is done automatically when a disputee is raised0 -

It looks even better not having it on there. Interest bearing debts don't demonstrate sufficient disposable income. There are much better things to have on your files.
I'd ask the ICO to ignore your complaint if you still have time.0 -
Really? I thought due to my poor credit history a repaid loan of 6k with no !!!!ed payments over four years would look good. Showing i can manage credit0
