  • Got my first 1% today - £5 :)

Mixture between bank account reward and some change in paypal. 99% to go.
  • Hi Sharon87, could I ask, is it transcription work you do? If so, who with? This is something I’ve thought on trying but not sure where to start!

  • Hi, could I join please? I think this is a really good idea! I don’t have any debt, other than my mortgage, but I am looking to build an EF of £4,000. I’m a newly single, working parent, so want to have this “just in case” fund put away. So my 1% will be £40.

Once I have my EF safely tucked away, I want to try the same principle to start making OP into my mortgage.

    Good luck everyone !

Thought I’d managed my first 1% today, but needed to pay school subs (home economics and technical) so my 1% went on that instead.

  • Can I join please?

My target is to clear a £900 debt so 1% for me will be £9.

I've already managed to put £18 to it so I'm standing at 2%.

One quick question - I understand the bit about minimum payments still have to be made but can you count the difference between the minimum payment & the interest charged towards your %ages?

So (in my case) if my min payment is £40 but the interest is £31 can I count the difference of £9 as 1%?

    TIA

I'd love to be involved in this again this year. Not too sure what I want my 1% to be as I've a credit card ending its 0% at the end of the month and need to see if I can get it on another % deal first.
    Did owe £9,951.96

Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

    Owe Virgin [STRIKE]£5,950.00 [/STRIKE]at 0% til June 2009 £3,427.89. Owe HSBC [STRIKE]£5,460.78 [/STRIKE]2.9% til May 2010 £3,703.07. Owe Post Office £1,676.62 at 0% til September 2010
  • Hi all. New Here. Like the sound of this so I'd like to join in on all the fun.

1 question. Probably being a noob. Lol So I've a debt that I want to get rid of currently sitting at £6130. It's all 0% at the moment but really want rid of it. So my 1% is about £62. My minimum payments I pay off is £145 so do I count that as 2% every month before I pay anything extra off? Or is it the extra on top of the miminum payments I'm counting?

    TIA
  • Hi

I would love to join and be a part of this, if I could be allocated a number please.

I have decided to tackle one debt at a time rather than the whole lot, as I like the idea of breaking it down into achievable goals. I think this will help keep me motivated, rather than just despair! We will see!

    Ok I’m going to tackle credit card 1 (A$da), balance is £551 so 1% = £5.51.

    Debt £551 - 1% £5.51

    Let’s do this!!!!

    Pix:hello:
    Xx

  • I am a newbie (well returning, but it's been so long that I can't even remember my old username!). Still finding my way around but I love this idea, so count me in.

    My 1% is £130.
  • Through the penny a day challenge & allocating money received from ebay sales, I've paid off now 4% of the debt.

Would love to join. Almost debt free now (and would be if I did not save money for the grandchildren), all debt at 0%, but would love to be debt free completely. 1% is £21.25. Have been debt free in the past, but helping children on the way put us back a bit - something I do not regret.
Debt September 2020 BIG FAT ZERO!
Now mortgage free, sort of retired, reducing and reusing and putting money away for grandchildren...
