2020 - banish the clutter

Hello allYesterday was spent decluttering the front hedges and gosh they do look better and tidier. I filled a green waste bin with the trimmings and now I will have to wait another week and a half for both of them to be emptied. Our tips are not open and judging by the TV reports from North Wales there would be queues miles long to use it too, so I wouldn't be using it anyway.I also recycled the latest monthly caravan magazine...... I can't see us getting away this year unless it is very late in the season. We have also decluttered some money out of the bank paying for our caravan storage, caravan club membership and car/van breakdown cover. Sadly everything needs renewing at the same time, not very good organisation on that front !Nicnak shame about the chocolate orange, bet you were gutted as I would be.Happy decluttering allnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

332:magazine to recycling
334-336: 3 drawers of paperwork sorted into category or company generating
337: half a box of recycling and half a box of rubbish
338: another book finished!
Also, a few things that were going to charity shops for rags have now been binned. If I'm not careful, there will be too much stuff hanging around for redistribution. It pains me to just chuck, but I have enough rags to make draught excluders for the whole street... I've got stuff to return to people, plants to rehome when I next see other people and sadly, no real idea when that's going to be.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

1. WRITE AND USE “TO DO LISTS” - MINIMUM 30 MINUTE BURSTS OF ACTIVITY AT LEAST TWICE EVERY DAY2. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT3. I WILL ENDEAVOUR TO BE NICE TO EVERYONE & TRY TO SEE THE FUNNY OR PECULIAR SIDE TO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
4. DAY TO DAY DECLUTTERING WILL CONTINUE
Friday & Saturday were both dry - starting cloudy then brightening up to warm & sunny days.Friday - DSis went to pharmacy to exchange one of her meds that was making her unwell as not her usual one - 1st trip out in 2 months. DH pootled. TV, AB2, knitting & reading for me. Dinner was lo beef stew (from freezer), mashed potatoes & cabbage for DH & DSis. I finished the lo cheesy pasta on a bed of hg lettuce with a lo risotto cake (from freezer) instead of focaccia.
Saturday was a busyish day for DH - moved various plants into their final positions. Washed & disinfected bird feeders & water bowls. Repaired neighbour’s child’s bike - took ages as the chain was jammed into the gearing sprockets ???? Child went out with his dad & it happened again 😱 DH spent the evening investigating & printing off instructions so he can sort on Sunday. DSis is feeling a lot better having swapped out one of her meds to her usual brand 👏 She was also an able assistant for DH when doing the bike repairs.
I cut some of my hg lettuce & gave a bag to neighbour - enough for the household of 4. Rest of the day was my usual - TV (mainly old movies), AB2, finished reading Book 1 of the Shipyard Girls series, knitting - now have 9 sets of bonding squares. Dinner was chicken fried in butter, boiled potatoes, garden peas & mashed parsnip & sweet potato for DH & I.
Sunday started a bit drab but sun is now out & quite warm. DH & DSis are in the garage having another go at bicycle repair. I have just had a nice chat with ndn who thoroughly enjoyed the hg lettuce - full of flavour 😁 😋 & have just chatted to the other neighbour who advised it made a wonderfully tasty salad. How pleased am I 😉 The indoor seedlings have been watered. Still no basil, just 3 chives, only 1 coriander. Several chard & parsnips. The tomato seeds which got off to a slow start are now progressing nicely - I now have 22 seedlings from 24 seeds 🥳 Currently watching a new series called Emergence - I was hooked within the first 10 minutes & am just watching the last of the 3 episodes I had recorded. I think I will continue to record 3 & binge watch.925 - 929 Two lots of kitchen recycling, 2 plastic bottles, cardboard box - Recycled930 - 932 Two bags of kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - Binned
Good work villagelife 👏 and definitely latch onto your decluttering motivation 🥳 Out of the 700’s into the 800’s - you are really motoring along 👏Thanks wort. We have a home BP machine so DH will check daily. His BP is usually on the low side & the nose bleeds have been with him since he was a boy. He can go years without any, then will have a few & then nothing for years.
Well done on the minimalism kick Wednesday2000 👏 a Gold Star ⭐️ is winging its way to you to encourage you to keep up the good work 😉Boo Nicnak - the chocolate must have really tasted bad 🤢 to be binned.Well done short_bird 👏 but can you retrieve the cactus pincushion? seems a shame to get rid if you like it 🙁 It is becoming a bit of problem now not knowing when we can all be released into general population & our trusty charity shops can be opened. However we are all here to lean on, vent or if at all possible bring a smile to each other’s faces 🙂 So how about this - Mrs Fox strides across the road & plonks herself down on the front ‘handkerchief’ in front of our house waiting for her dinner. She eats & runs. Then an hour or so later she reappears on the off chance of an egg - cheeky 😉 When eggs were plentiful she would get one every two or three nights now however she gets one a week 😆 By the way Mrs Fox has no concept of social distancing 🤣 comes within 2 feet of DSis who is feeder-in-chief 😉
You are welcome TC77 🙂 Keep up the good work 👏
Great work on the kerb appeal nannywindow 👏 Shame about all the expenses coming at once 🙁 I must admit that DH is responsible for all household & motoring expenses so I have no idea of the timing 😉
Wow you have been busy chocolatedrinker 👏 Keep up the good work 👏
DH & I have just had a bowl of hm soup & very tasty it was too. The bicycle is properly fixed now 🤞 & the neighbour has just given us some cans of pale ale & some barbecue briquettes 👏
See you later

MrsSD I am watching Emergence too, I'm up to date but I'm not quite sure how far the story can go. Maybe there will be a twist ? Hope your DSiS feels better for the change of meds. We are very lucky that our DD collects ours at the same time as her own as DH must not go out.... oncologist orders.Today I had a cs bag through the door for collection on Thursday. Don't know how they are managing to collect as we are still in lockdown for around another 2 weeks, not going to knock it though as I have a bag ready to go. I shall take all the precautions and use gloves etc to fill it ( it's already in another bag so I will just drop it in). I seem to be cleaning/disinfecting everything these days, but I'm not willing to take any chances. I have now got some wiggle room to fill another, Yay !!nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10

Recycled all the paperwork from my old studying today. Then did a bit more paperwork and found a load of old payslips that have gone into the fire basket ready to be burned. Next on the list is to do the job applications stuff - I've kept a load of old applications and 'how to create a CV' stuff. It all needs weeding out as most things are on the computer now. I've also got a couple of Really Useful boxes filled with ancient paperwork that need going through. Once I've done that I think I will be in a good position to start thinking about packing for the move - I really didn't want to take a load of old paperwork with me, although I think its come with us for our last two moves!OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Planted out my Tomato plants on Friday.Need to go through my wardrobe because even in real life, I don’t need 11 Spring and summer skirts for work. Also I have a strong dislike for my casual raincoats and since I have two smart sea salt ones, keep wondering whether I should just wear the smart ones and get rid of the others... can’t quite decide about muddy walks though (not that I do more than 3 a year of those,...)
anyway.. next week off work so hope to declutter some craft projects and some wardrobe items... and I have spied some cheap drinking glasses we haven’t used more than twice this year so might get rid of those and use the nice smaller crystal ones.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?7
