Finding it hard now. The next bits are huge ones, and I just feel too overwhelmed to do them so going to wait until the right motivation comes in. I will tackle them, but not at the minute. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

@EnergyShifter and @Jami74 I’m with you. Did the same this time last year and have had a zero hours contract since September- best decision I ever made. I’ve had enough work to keep our way of life pretty intact and don’t have to do any work that doesn’t fit in. I could do loads more hours and I may well once my arm is better but it’s been so good for us to manage with less. Not much decluttering done today - some cardboard binned etc and some elderly silk flowers and vase consigned to CS. DH has continued his seven items from the garage. He calls it ‘doing my items’ 😂😂
Did some self care this evening - mini facial using lovely skincare bought for me by DD at Xmas but needed two working hands to be really beneficial so saved for my arm to be well on the road to recovery (🍾) and painted fingernails. It’s amazing how much better that makes you feel.
Work tomorrow so no decluttering other than taking plastic cutlery in for use at work.Have a good week one and all

I'm doing better now!Bag of about 10 items to food bank. I just go through my cupboards and donate things I haven't used if they're still in date, jams, instant coffee, curry sauce.
washing tabs, hand wash, WUL, coffee, bath oil to daughter from my stash. Also a pair of new pjs I was given at Xmas, not really my thing.
old torn coat and stained table runner to recycling. 4 pairs of shoes ditto.Magnolia Stellata13 -
That was a different coat and table thing to recycling by the way; I took some last week. Not double counting! Am going to be very ruthless with the rest of the coats in the cloakroom now; there used to be 6 people living here now there's only me (plus lodger sometimes) but there are no fewer coats. None of them fit me.

More progress from us over the weekend.
MrEH's wardrobe completely emptied, cleaned out and a LOT of stuff got rid of. The items being stored there are specific to an event that we are involved with and those that we no longer required have mostly had to go to rubbish as they aren't suitable for CS - so
3 sacks of rubbish > bins
1 pile of paperwork > recycling
1 carrier bag of items to be returned to central stores next time we go.
2 suits that still had wear in them but were no longer any good for MrEH > Charity Shop bag
1 Suit which has wear in it and will do as an "emergency suit" for MrEH will go > cleaners and then back into a suit bag in the wardrobe.
Half a dozen shirts > CS bag
Several ties > Cleaners then > MrEH's office to allow them to be worn again.
2 x fleeces will go through the wash and then > CS
Next to tackle was the cupboard above that wardrobe - including a storage box that had some unworn clothes in it - that has now been sorted through, some items thrown away and space created. A plastic storage tray we found up there has been put straight into use to take some loose items in the wardrobe below.
Our big chest of drawers:
A whole pile of t-shirts sorted through - some > CS, some > rubbish as simply past it, and some to the space created in that storage box as they want keeping but won't be worn often. I now have half a drawer completely empty so will probably transfer either gloves/scaves/hats/walking socks etc to there, or maybe running kit. On the other hand, relocating to other bits will increase the space in the drawer that houses the running kit!
MrEH has got rid of any trousers and shorts that have seen better days, and also found a couple of pairs that he bought but don't fit nicely that have gone (back to!) the CS.
And just in passing - I finished a couple of books which have both gone > CS bag.
Still really enjoying this process - especially that it creates space, light and a feeling of freedom. There is more to do, astonishingly, although not *much* more, now. The thing above anything else that has struck me this time is how "on board" MrEH is with it all - previously he's been resistant, inclined to be defensive about being willing to get rid of anything. This time round he's far more open to thinking about what he actually needs, whether things really will "come in handy one day" and I think is actually also enjoying that feeling of space that we're creating, too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
