I Ilke it, but think that ten hours for research CCCs is somewhat excessive, this is hardly rocket science.

  • What would you say is more reasonable? Iv actually spent way more than that. You can see from my times of posting the comments. Last night I think was about 4 hours just there..Reading learning trying to understand.

    Thank you

Surely that depends on one's  ability ability to absorb information and understand difficult concepts.  It took me 5-6 hours to understand the problem.

  • I'd ideally like to add a million hours as that's how much headache it's caused. I won't even add in the hours I spent looking for my deeds for a mortgaed house-so you can imagine my level of intelligence and how long its taken me  :D

You need to prove unreasonable behaviour on the part of the PPC. That they put you through hoops along the way - highly frustrating and annoying, but not much different to that experienced by any other Defendant they're pursuing - is unlikely to get over the high bar required in the county court.  But as a minimum, if you're going to push forward with the additional costs, you will need to list and evidence the incidences and levels of unreasonable behaviour displayed by the Claimant.

The Litigant-in-Person rate is a standard £19ph. I know there can be circumstances when a % of a lower level solicitor's rate is applicable (but we very rarely see it feature in cases reported here) but I'm not sure what your justification is for claiming a higher amount (I've not read back through the entire thread, so apologies if you've already been advised to go higher).

Costs for loss of earnings (or annual leave) is for half a day court appearance. Have you had two appearances?  If so, you will need to show the dates.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • The £23.17 is my hourly wage so I put that instead of the £19 and iv done countless hours of work on both cases.

No court appearances but I have been working 40 plus hours every week throughout lockdown and have had to do all this after dinner every day. So I did take a day off and spent it doing this. I also read it on the newbies page .

My head has gone crazy truly trying to understand how they can 'charge me'in my own space and as more the management company they have been the worst to deal with!
  • You can claim £19 per hour
You havent included loss of half days pay or loss of leave for the hearing, under ordinary costs. This is capped at £95 and you must provide proof of said cost.
You must bullet point how they have been unreasonable.
I dont know why this comes as a shock.

The £23.17 is my hourly wage

But the court rules are not based on one's hourly rate.  As stated, they at £19 ph.
