Just tried to log in to my account. The password wouldn't work on the website and the app state it is now locked.I've had the account for about 6 weeks. I will phone them tomorrow.
Update - seems to be momentary as I can access my account now.

A couple of years ago, Clydesdale decided to buy "Virgin Money" (the savings outfit) and rebrand the merged company as "Virgin Money" (paying the bearded one a large sum of money to use the Virgin name).
That's one way of putting it. I prefer to say that Virgin Money took over Clydesdale by swapping its shares for CYBG ones, then renaming CYBG Plc (the owner of Clydesdale Bank) as Virgin Money Plc, while the Virgin Money Bank (the former Northern Rock) became a trading name of Clydesdale Bank
And just to further muddy the waters the account appears on my Experian and TransUnion credit reports as Yorkshire Bank.
Yorkshire Bank was already a trading name of Clydesdale bank, from tidying up while they were both subsidiaries of National Australia Bank.
The sort codes assigned to the VM current account are existing YB codes, or  existing CB codes, so anyone looking them up finds Yorkshire or Clydesdale Banks listed.  I suppose everything will be sorted eventually, when all Clydesdale and Yorkshire branches are rebranded Virgin.

They probably thought Virgin sounded less regional
Still no sign of a new regular saver

I wonder if they still think it’s a good idea to rebrand as Virgin, given the poor PR that other firms in that family as well as Richard Branson personally have had recently - Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Media, Virgin Trains etc.

Well, it seems as though 2% interest trumps any negative elements that may accrue from bad PR.

That, and the unfathomable popularity that the bearded one enjoys despite being at the forefront of the evil vanguard of capitalism.

Just opened an account, as a replacement for my Monzo account that I only really use for foreign transactions, thought might as well make the most of the 2% interest for the 1k as well.

Has anyone else had any problems setting up the app on their phone? When I try setting it up on my iPhone 11, which has fully up to date software and hasn’t been changed from standard software settings, I get a message saying that it won’t let me set it up “on a device with non standard software settings to protect me from online fraud”...

I tried contacting them about this but all they have said is that it should work but they don’t know why it isn’t working for me. I’ve never had any problems downloading different banking apps, or any apps at all for my phone, including the virgin money credit card app...

I haven't got a iPhone 11, just an XS 10 Max, on which the Virgin Current account apps is working with no probs. Have you checked the iOS level you are on? I am on 13.5.1, which I believe is the most current version.

Whilst you are sorting out your app issues, have you tried to access your account through a web browser? This might require authorisation from the app, so I am not sure it would work if you can't get the app to work. Worth a try though.

Yeah I am on the latest software update.
I have logged into online banking but couldn’t see anything to active the mobile banking. I have since tried to download the app on my iPad and have set it up on there with no problems, but I would rather have it on my phone.

Did you buy your iPhone 11 brand new? Just checking as if it's been jailbroken then that might be the issue.

You get the app from the App Store not website. Search in App Store and download
