Virgin Money Current Account

Yorkshire Bank is just a trading name of Clydesdale Bank, and has been for several years now, so Clydesdale might just use the real name for all their surveys.colsten said:
I never had a B, and I never had an account or CC with Clydesdale Bank. I did, however, have a current account with Yorkshire Bank, and it was my YB password that they wanted me to use at some stage in the process ...dahj said:When Virgin Money was B you picked Yorkshire or Clydesdale as your home branch network - 05 or 82 identified which. They have partially separate but identical platforms - I guess a legacy of formerly being two unconnected banks owned by NAB.
They seem to have assigned me to Clydesdale Bank now, as that's who I got my survey questionnaire from.0 -
They are all now under the umbrella of Virgin Money UK PLC"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Well yes, but some people report they got their survey from YB. Some people also got invited to join a YB User Community after they successfully applied for the Virgin current accountEarthBoy saidYorkshire Bank is just a trading name of Clydesdale Bank, and has been for several years now, so Clydesdale might just use the real name for all their surveys.typistretired said:They are all now under the umbrella of Virgin Money UK PLC
I know that.
It doesn't stop them though sending a "thank you for applying to Clydesdale product" email [for some, not for all my applications], a survey for such which is plastered with Clydesdale Bank references (and zero Virgin Money references), and an invitation to join the Clydesdale Bank Community (in which there's a distinct absence of anything Virgin)

Nor does it stop them sending a text relating to my ancient Yorkshire Bank account from "VMoney&CYB". They have a serious identity crisis, which I suspect will eventually be resolved by us all seeing red. Virgin Red.

Has anyone noticed the IBAN and BIC both include the word YORK?Eco_Miser said:Nor does it stop them sending a text relating to my ancient Yorkshire Bank account from "VMoney&CYB". They have a serious identity crisis, which I suspect will eventually be resolved by us all seeing red. Virgin Red.
However when verifying the payee name when setting up a payment it says it is a payment to Clydesdale bank, presumably based on the sort code.
All for a Virgin Money bank account so definitely an identity crisis. Perhaps they should have verified the ID before going live by submitting the required ID documents.

Just rechecked and the account verification from NatWest stated that the payment details were for YORKSHIRE BK T/N CLYDESDALE BK PLC. Unfortunately NatWest could not verify the account.
The sort code 05-00-05 comes up as Yorkshire Bank.0 -
Mine were all that sort code too"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
