Electric cars question

Should be a simple one so not worthy of its own thread. Can any of the current or upcoming crop of sensible EVs tow? Not a caravan, just a trailer. This could be a deal breaker for me if not.
There's some here:

If you can get away with 750kg then you've got a few options (Prius, Ionic).
You're looking at big hybrids if you need to go to caravan weights.0 -

I have to say that's a solution I've considered for my (very) occasional forays north from the deep south when I just want to get there quickly. The sort of EV I might afford would be ok for bimbling round in the south of England or even Normandy or Brittany: for the Alps I go with a friend in her van, but for single jaunts north hiring seems a reasonable option.
Headline rates for a week's hire of a small car seemed pretty good although I haven't looked in to CDW or other costs.0 -
Thanks. So really only hybrids unless I've got £80k and want a huge 5+ seat SUV. Probably rules out an EV for me for the foreseeable future. There's some here:

Yeah, the only pure EV on the market which is rated for towing is the Tesla X.
That'll change at some point (I hope, because I want to tow ~1500kg and whilst I'd love a Tesla X it ain't happening).
So you're looking at hybrids, but depending on your usage you might not need to use much fuel.0 -
Model 3 can tow0

I suppose a Model 3 is only a little bit bigger than a Golf/Focus and my current tow vehicle (Mazda3). I could live with that but not the £42k price:eek:. I only need to tow a trailer for motorcycles and tip runs. You're going to be pushing it if you want a decent-weight tow-car that's smaller than Golf-/Focus- sized.0 -
Same here
I will wait until EV's drop in price to nearer £20k for a "mainstream" car and even then - only if IC cars are no longer available \!0
