I don't want to know where you live. I was just trying to have a discussion about BEVs and their usefulness or lack of it. If you don't want to engage, that's fine by me.
Sorry - I was having a bad day - I am open to any discussions
    I live in SW England
I basically am considering changing my Suzuki Baleno 1.0 automatic for - either a EV ot Hybrid
I need an automatic and preferably torque converter gearbox - but don't know whether they exist ot not ?
Also - it must be able to take a wheelchair - so no tiny cars - but not a WAV

We stayed in a hotel without any charging facilities

Answering your own question. Maybe 'Town B' has a hotel that has charging facilities, and if so, you'd have a full battery in the morning.
OK thinking again - most hybrids are manual on the ic engine

Nope. Most are automatic. Manual is the rarity. The Toyotas and Lexus are CVT automatics AFAIK.
Hyundai ioniq? You can take your pick between electric, plug in hybrid, and no plug-in hybrid (don't call it self-charging!).

I was going by the Suzuki Swift Hybrid being a manual !
and CVT's are no good for me - I prefer a "proper" Automatic

    So
I was going by the Suzuki Swift Hybrid being a manual !

    One solitary model

    Makes you say
OK thinking again - most hybrids are manual on the ic engine

    One car is not most.
As I said above, I can put you off the Toyotas and Lexus, and encourage you to look at the various Ioniqs.

    WAV?
If you are doing 400 miles regularly a plug in hybrid is probably counterproductive.
If you can charge overnight by swapping hotels then your best bet at the moment would be one of several EVs that are in the mid £30k range , possibly too rich for you though depending on mileage you'd get some of that back in fuel savings. As I said I pay the equivalent of 25p a litre on fuel. How much do you spend on fuel each year? And how often do you do that 400 mile trip?if it's once or twice a year for example then a smaller pure EV and a rental for those infrequent long trips might be a solution.

WAV - Wheelchair accessible vehicle - ie) one that takes me, still sitting in the chair - unnecessary

    Perhaps 4 times per year
Other than that - I drive around 6,000 miles per year - mostly journeys of less than 20 miles !
This may be resolved if, when I am "converted" to PIP benefits from DLA - If I get assessed for Mobility - I can get a Motability vehicle !

Then a plug in hybrid would let you do most journeys on electric and those occasional long distance trips. I have no knowledge of what would work with WAV though,

Should be a simple one so not worthy of its own thread. Can any of the current or upcoming crop of sensible EVs tow? Not a caravan, just a trailer. This could be a deal breaker for me if not.

I have this requirement too - the ability to add a tow bar for very light (but needed) work. Tesla's expensive cars can have one, but smaller electric, no. Hybrid seems to be the way forward, Ionic and Prius can both have them.

The Suzuki isn't a "proper" hybrid, just a mild hybrid. It doesn't power the car alone at all, just give a bit of a power boost on hard acceleration.
