  • £5000 for August - I got backpay and my shares didn't fall as I feared last month.

I can't say I've lived much more cheaply during Covid. Obviously no holidays and less socialising, but I am spending more on food and drink and general indulgences! I've lived a little bit more cheaply, but not as much as I would have expected. :|

#27 reporting in with £2,750 for August. After a month of noise, dust, and mud from the builders, the garden has had a well-overdue makeover, but it's put a bit of a dent in the savings rate for the rest of the year - should just about hit target by December,  but it will need a bit of tightening of the budget to get there.

Just popped my form in for August - £509.48 just keeps me over 66% of my modest target of £6000 - pale green for two thirds the way through the year.

In contrast I have spent very nearly two thirds of my grocery budget (which will constrain Christmas spending) - I am making jams and jellies and preserving and storing produce to try and claw this back
    Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Form updated.  I have saved £20 in August.  I was expecting £0 as DH is not currently earning so am happy with that.  Also, we've not needed to touch any of our savings yet.  I am not expecting to save anything in September, and think we may have to start using savings in October unless our situation changes again.
