Hope you don't mind me joining (late to the party I know :D) but after reading this thread I was inspired to actually get things done this year, rather than just thinking about them!. Also, after talking to DH and 2 DD's (8 & 10) this weekend, they are also now in the process of coming up with their own 20 20's :T

Anyway, I've already made a start on some of mine as I had some of them as goals for the year anyway, but here's the list as it stands today:

    1. Watch 20 new to me films / documentaries - 1 / 20
    2. Read 20 books - 1 / 20
    3. Go for 20 walks over 30 mins
    4. Make 20 new meals
    5. Have 20 date nights
    6. 20 bike rides
    7. Play 20 board games - We love board games, but have built up a large selection of un-played games so the aim is to get through these before we look for any more! - 1 / 20
    8. 20 meetings with friends or family - 1 / 20
    9. 20 donations to charity / food bank
    10. Visit 20 places of interest / experiences - Not going to count holidays / weekends away as 1 or I'll cheat and count our 2 1/2 week holiday as part of this :rotfl:
    11. Save £2020 over the year
    12. Lose 20% of my body weight – I've worked out what 20% equates to and I'm too embarrassed to say, so I'm working on percent of achieving that! I started 2 weeks ago and I'm currently at 19.43% of goal
    13. Listen to 20 new albums on Spotify - I have a tendency to listen to the same things, or playlists so I may change this to podcasts as well as Albums (embarrassed to say I've never listened to a podcast!)
    14. Have 20 family days - Again, won't count holidays as part of this
    15. Try 20 new things
    16. Sell 20 things on ebay / booty sites
    17. Do 20 jobs around the house (that I've been putting off)
    18. Spend 20 minutes a day clearing, cleaning, organising - Thought this would be easier to count in weeks - 1 / 52 (working on making up the days missed)
    19. Build 20 Lego sets - We have a MASSIVE lego [STRIKE]addiction / problem / collection[/STRIKE] hobby and we have at least a hundred un-built sets  not little ones either, so my goal is to actually build some of these, rather than keep on buying them!
    20. Spend 20 minutes per day organising photos - I few years ago I had the idea of doing a photo book a year, but never got round to it. In a moment of madness I've committed and paid for the photo books for the past 10 years  I've got 6 months to finish them, so I need to buckle down and make a start on this!

Hopefully we can all spur each other on to get things ticked off
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same
  • That's my kind of water ancientmum!
A girl's got to have something to look forward to on a Saturday night!

Nos. (2) and (14) - I've not been doing so good on the walking/car use last week, 18.8miles walking and 25.6 miles in the car.

    (3) 20 meat free dinners a month 10/20

    (5) 20 swim etc a month 11/20 visits

    (8) Read 20 books 2/20. The Handmaids Tale By Margaret Attwood and The Golden Egg by
    Donna Leon

    (9) Write 20 poems 1/20

I hope everyone else is ignoring Blue Monday. How rubbish to make us expect to feel sad on one particular day. The bluest thing here is the sky - it's a beautiful Sunny Monday.

  • So a third of the way through the month and it seems everyone else is doing better than I am (and I don’t just mean at updating) but as this is not a completion for any of I’d just like to say good work to everyone....hope your progress is brightening your year!

No progress to report on the good cause cake consumption - have no idea what’s going wrong at work as there’s usually a bake sale every few weeks!

Unsubscribe is now at 10 of 20
Swims 1 of 20 (over 3 separate sessions I have to add)
    Outs 1 of 20
Pamper me sessions 1 of 20
    Vegetarian Choices 3 of 20

Need to check where we are with the walks and maybe readjust what counts, given that we are daily reserve dog walkers at present. I think it’s at 12 at least so far...

Possibly the most surprising to me is that I am also at 2 of 20 for £20. And they were real paper things, not just the virtual ones that I had predicted.

First food bank meal will happen this weekend as will combine it with a Tesco club card big shop voucher week.

Just a quick thank you from me Lurker1972 for starting this thread. I'm not sure you intended it to take off as it has but it's a great idea. I hope you don't feel it's been hijacked and are more like the proud parent, reflecting on your baby's achievements so far! :T
