Mine is meant to be upto 8 mb and is actually 972 kbps download speed & 182 kbps upload speed.:eek:

try testing in the middle of the night, you will find speeds significantly higher:D

Tested mine a while back at peak time and got just under a meg, tested early hours of morning and got just under 2 meg, I only pay for 2mb, don't think they can supply faster to my house anyway;)

I got 4385 - BT say I can get 4mbs so I guess I'm geting what they say? Am I? I work in IT and find all these numbers confusing.

With ADSL broadband links your link will not be 8Mb both ways, depends upon supplier but it maybe 1Mb out (upload or upstream) to the internet and 8Mb back (download or downstream) to you. Can be different speeds throughout the day as some providers cap the speeds, run the test at different times of the day and night.
You will have to check with your provider.

We are currently trialling a new broadband for free but should be getting up to 24mb. We should be getting alot higher than we are as the exchange is on our road.
We're changing to Sky in a week or so when the trial ends & i think we're getting the 8mb.

mine is ridicuous- we get UP TO 4 i think it was - may have been higher and we get less than 1/2 a mb.... i guess cos our phoneline is sooo old.
