  • Late in updating but Wednesday was a NSD, helped by the fact I left my purse at home :D, making 6/10 NSDs thus far for this month. Struggled to have made any other NSDs as one child or another has needed secret santa gifts bought for their various form/ friendship group. I think each child had at least 2 secret santas if not 3 so spending has taken a hit :(.

Honeysucklelou2, well done on the NSD :):T:T and I think the last week in the runup to Christmas is always incredibly tricky for last-minute spending, you're still doing really well :)

    Hi everyone.
I feel for you Honeysuckle, as cathybird says, Xmas is a very tricky time when you have young ones ( all mine are grown up now so I just give money and small foodie gifts, very easy).
Yesterday wasn't a NSD but today is; bringing me to 9/12. I'm hoping that tomorrow will be too.
But Monday definately won't be as that's when I'll do my last fresh shopping, just a few bits needed. Dreading it really as the SMs are choca aren't they, car parks are in chaos where I live, it seems people are panic buying:eek:
  • Another NSD for me today, so 14/20. Hopefully tomorrow and Monday, too. But not entirely convinced I won't get lured into a supermarket between now and Tuesday.... :)

Well done Vanlady :) :j:j and I agree with you on the panic buying, which I find odd in a way - I know everyone wants Christmas to be a lovely day and go off without any major hitches but it is only one day, the shops are open again on Boxing Day, the chances of people starving are slim, you know? But then it's stressful if you're entertaining a largeish number of people, or if family getting together is usually fraught. So I get it in a way.

Well done Optimistic Saver :) :j:j and go for it this week :) Do you not find supermarkets rather crowded and stressful at this time of year? I do :(

Indeed I do, cathybird. We have a click and collect to pick up tomorrow (6 bottles of fizz on the Asda 25% off wine offer, my husband is paying - yippee). Doubly motivated to save money and NOT step food inside a supermarket, with all that last minute stressy shopping and crammed car parks. BUT think we might need a fruit and dairy top-up before Wednesday..... arghhhhh :rotfl:
