No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries December 2019

I’d like to join please, I’ve been very bad in 2019 for the first time in my life I’ve had excess funds having paid off all my debt so I’ve succumbed to subscription boxes and advent calendars. I’d be here all day listing everything so I’m just going to report on in and out. Tied to subscription boxes for now but I do enjoy them.
Have been using my naked heat palette every day in December and this will continue until the end of Jan. love the look of them but don’t like the way the colours are hard to blend and just muddy into one colour. This is my third naked palette and I’ve told myself even though I like the look of naked honey it’s not happening, there are better ones to buy. Will there be a new challenge for 2020?
Welcome. You don’t have to publish a list here but it may help you to look at your stash to see what categories you have an excess of and establish the older items that it would be ideal to work on.
We always do a panning list each month. You can choose as many items as you like. I choose 10 which are made up of skincare/bodycare/hair are as I know these are items I can get through. It’s handy if there’s something you have that is laborious to use (for me, this is eye cream) and a good motivator to make you finish something before pulling a replacement out of your stash or repurchasing.
We also have Finish 7 by Spring which is just starting. For these seasonal projects I choose makeup items because a 3 month period is enough to make a good dent on a new item or potentially finish something you have already panned.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

I have 2 UUs and a TA.
UUs:-
Boots baby shampoo- used this for washing makeup brushes. Have, at last, moved onto the shower gel that I had in my last Project Pan. Need to find something to put my used brushes in so I can rotate these better.
OPI Tickle my Francey - have just repainted my nails with this and it was difficult for me to load the brush for the second coat so considering it done. Have decided that I’m going to make my Project Polish more official by rotating my chosen polishes in more often. At the moment I’m working on OPI A Definite Moust Have (coral family), OPI Bullish On OPI (red family), OPI Sparrow Me The Drama (pink family) and OPI Samoan Sand (mini) - think this may be gone soon. Don’t particularly like it and use it as a base colour each time I paint my nails. Will choose a new nude colour to replace Tickle My Francey later. Have mixed emotions about this polish. It was really hyped when it was first released and there were so many nudes that followed however I have nicer newer nudes that I would repurchase before this one.
TA - I bought Emma a Lacura mud mask (Glamglow copy) which she left here for me. Ran myself a lovely bath yesterday and applied this. Had to remove it straight away because it burned. Not a gentle heat, my face was on fire. So it’s gone. Not sure if it’s the age of it or an ingredient I’m intolerant too but I certainly won’t repurchase.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Welcome lantanna. Don't fall into the trap of spending all your new found spare cash on beauty products, there are so many other things you can do with it.
maddiemay/Fluffydog - I was talking to a friend yesterday about her Border Collie, she is 13 now and my friend is 70, they were both out on a 6 mile walk, slower than they used to but still impressive.
VALM - DD had one of those Lacura masks, it didn't irritate her but she said it didn't really do anything, I do wonder if these Lacura copies are just about the packaging like Bayliss & Harding ripping of expensive brands but when you get to the product it is rubbish. DD did have a bad reaction to one of those sachet masks, took 2 weeks to get her skin right from that, she patched tested another one (got a whole load of them as a gift) no problem, applied it to her face and took it straight off because it burned so badly.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I've had a few Lacura copies that have been so good though. The Clarins flash balm and LE Cleanse and Polish are stand outs. Others that I have tried but not tried the original of are the Nip n Fab glycolic pads (love these) and Pixi Glow tonic (not a bad product but not as effective as the pads). I'm also using the Clinique Moisture Surge at the moment and again whilst it's not a bad product it's not moisturising enough for me. Can't wait to try the Kiehls copy I have. I would much rather spend money on these products than their original counterparts.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Left a conditioner at a hotel, lucky it wasn’t too expensive and about half used, I generally don’t count shampoo/conditioner for this challenge now anyways, but there is one problematic shampoo I’ll have to add to January’s PP.
My OH received a battered looking Korres hand cream for secret santa, which she wasnt overly impressed with because she’s not that into hand cream, doesn’t care that it’s Korres and it’s for mature aged skin which she is not, nor am I but get extremely dry hands and would be very happy to try Korres. So I’m going to swap her one of my new body shop hand creams.
TA
Max Factor dark circles concealer - I will never find the right concealer :-(
Loreal eye paint - finally getting rid of!! Tried today using an eyeliner brush and I’m not pro enough to get it perfect. I would be tempted to get a liquid eyeliner in the same gun metal silver colour tho..0 -
Don’t think I will have anymore movement now.
December totals:
IN - 1
OUT - 5
In 2019 I have reduced my make up stash by 20 items, really happy with this!I feel like I can’t reduce my stash that much further, possibly on lip products only. My Neals Yard stash on the other hand.. :shhh:
Looking forward to 2020, by the end of the year I hope to have my Neals Yard stash under control.0 -

I do have the C&P dupe and it is good. Didn't break me out so it is a bonus xally.0 -
I have been useless this month and haven't used much more than shampoo, conditioner and shower gel!
I did well with the lip balm and hand cream and have a few spluterers now but should make more effort with creams and lotions.
I have just spent an hour or two making a complete stash list for the new 2020 thread. It is pretty scary.
I am GA lots of Christmas stuff but kept the Bodyshop gift set. I have bought nothing in sales at all.
Happy new year!0 -
Finish 7 by Spring:
Our Tiny Bees Cocoa & Honey Bath Melt
Superdrug Ice Wine Eye Cream
Lucky Cloud Coconut Lip Butter
Superdrug Devotion Body Spray
Urban decay all-nighter eyeliner - would like to make progress with this as it is a couple of years old now and I really love wearing it... there is currently 14mm of product left
Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Chai - would be good to make progress with this, it's my go to shade for Jan/Feb
LUSH Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser0 -
Three more UU from today:
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Creme. WBA. Used this as a moisturiser for winter dry skin, really liked it.
Neal's Yard Rose Balm. WNBA. This was a sample but not my cup of tea.
VenEffect Lip Treatment. WNBA. Another sample, nice to try but prefer a balm.
I'm hoping to have another one at least before the end of 2019but I've done my stash list for 2020 already and identified my spring list.
