#61. Making May overpayment of £500 making total for May 552.27.

So many people are struggling but my husband has found work making us more able to pay off more as we’re used to just my salary for such a long time.

    thanks
Congratulations on your husband's new job! Also, it looks like you've hit your target for the year already. Let me know if you would like me to increase it or leave it as is :)

    Morning All!

Hope everyone is keeping well in these bizzare times. Certainly feel like I'm begining to get cabin fever working from home every day  :/

My offset has gone a bit complicated last month or two as OH had the interest rate slashed on his savings account he keeps for tax so it made sense to put his tax money into the offset instead, but I've had to record it on my spreadsheet as money I to the account otherwise my figures won't add up so I'm trying to work out the deductions that shouldn't be included in the overall total for this purpose  :#

I *think* April should therefore  be £871 which is way off my monthly target but wanted to pay off the credit card as the 0% is up soon.

Had a payrise in work which I know I should be very grateful for in the current climate so should be bringing home around extra £100 a month so will throw that into the offset. I get paid end of the month so will see how much is left after I pay off the remaining on the credit card.

LOMCEVAK - that is amazing news you must be so pleased!  :)

    Morning :)
#32 Hadn't realised that it was my Amex yearly cashback delivery, so my CC balance was a lot lower than expected. I've got this spare money sitting in my current account not doing much so OP it is. So I've OP £273.34 extra for May inc. Tilly Tidy. Total for May should be £1003.63. Julicorn this means I've reached my target. I think I'm going to leave it as it is. In my mind this year £6000 was £500 each month which is basically my mortgage interest. I'll probably increase my target in a few months after I've attacked my savings fund. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking in Feb when I need to remortgage it would be good to be at a position where I've gone down to 75% LTV but its hard to gauge what that figure will need to be in this current climate.
Keep safe everyone, not sure if I'll be back again in May as pay day is the last day of the month.

PS well done Lomcevak and thank you for managing this Julicorn x

    Good Evening
Please could I join your gang. I have just left the debt free section as today I have finally become debit free and I don’t want to get used to having the money spare, plus not much to spend it on at the mo. I would like to set an ambitious £5400 as this is 10% of our current balance and I believe I can OP 10% of our starting balance.  Current mortgage free date is July 2034 but I am aiming for Dec 2027. I will then start on our second mortgage recently taken out for extension. But not even thinking about that now, just going to let the regular dd  go out for this in the background. Thanks for letting me join half way through but really excited to get cracking
    thanks xx
Of course you can - sorry for the late reply, and congratulations on becoming debt free! :) You're our #140.

Hey Julicorn, I’ve been a bit quiet the last couple of months so here’s my update:
    #121
    April = £384.78 OP
    May so far= £512.02 OP

Its amazing how the TTs make such a difference- I wouldn’t have even saw this before.

My new mortgage rate hits next month too so will be automatically overpaying an extra £100 per month!

Feeling for those affected by the times-stay positive all -every little helps as they say.

Thank you all for being so inspirational. 😃
