  • What a fab thread! Please count me in!

I am a single mum in my 30s with a young family so am already very mindful of all things financial, but as they say, there is always room for improvement!

I budget and keep a spending diary, meal plan with what we have in and try to avoid waste. We are very much in to reduce reuse recycle! I am not precious about things having to be new - some of my favourite buys have been preloved. We take snacks and pack lunches with us when we go out and I return presents that we don’t need in exchange for something that we do.

By doing these things I am able to stay in the black and have peace of mind that the bills are covered.

I would simply like to continue this way. However I also want to enjoy the spending money that I allocate
us in the budget - something I struggle with and feel very guilty over!

No spend days today and yesterday. Long may it continue!

Today I ordered a bulk load of loo roll - not that I'm expecting issues but it worked out a lot cheaper per roll. I have 45 rolls coming which worked out at around 50p ish per roll for good quality bamboo non plastic loo roll.

I shall endeavour to make these last...........

(what has my life become when I am excited about loo roll.... haha)

HI, I think I'll join you all this year, I've currently read up to page 3 of the thread, its making nice reading on my quiet New Years eve :)
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
          2. I would love to join and be successful at this way of life! I have made a start and bought some little note books which I think will help me keep track of everything which I will do weekly. I have a busy house and life but really intend to make this year the year I am one step ahead and finally pay off the majority of our debt and I really need to be very frugal to do that, support and likeminded friends will help, thanks

I spend an insane amount of time wondering if I am doing it right, sometimes I remind myself that I am doing my best....and that is enough

            Happy new year everyone :D

My budget is set for 2020 , I have a budget book that I write all income, expenditure and savings and have been looking forward to using my new 2020 one :j ( I’m not very computery so a book is better for me )
DD1 is getting married this year so this is an added expense that I need to budget for

I am aiming to stop unnecessary spending
Reduce food spending - no takeaways , I’m going to meal plan and home cook (which I like to do anyway )
Going to eBay stuff to increase income
I was going to go to the gym this year but I have decided to exercise at home and save the cost of monthly membership

            That’s my plan :T
