    Hi,

Just popping in to say you're doing great! I've subscribed :)

  • Hi astrocytic kitten yes they do don't they! Tbh, every day I have some level of pain or discomfort, but the pain yesterday came out of nowhere and there's no real trigger I can put my finger on. Just have to be thankful that I feel not too bad today.

Hi naomim thanks for popping in! I'll have a look at your diary as there's lots for me to read :)

Well, I decided to drive in the end as most were driving so I knew it wouldn't be a wild night! We smashed the escape room (did it in the fastest time it's been done so far), was a Save Christmas theme, we had xmas jumpers and headbands and it was all very festive lol. We had dinner and I've eaten so much, the food was so good. Cost me £1.50 parking, so a very cheap night for the fun had :)

I'm going to try and go to bed soon as I'm going to yoga with my mum in the morning. I bought a 5 lesson pass before my ex left, think I've only got a handful left, and not sure I'll be able to afford a tenner a throw going forward :( But I really enjoy the classes so maybe I'll have to cut out something else so I can go a couple of times a month. Anyway, those are questions for another day!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday :)

  • Hi everyone,

Well I didn't go to yoga. Had the worst sleep, had a bad dream about my ex and woke up exhausted, angry and hurt. Ended up staying on the sofa until 3, when I decided to get up and do some cleaning. Did the boys' litter tray, cleaned the bathroom, hoovered and mopped. Hoovering is my nemisis, I would rather clean 10 bathrooms than hoover (which is why my ex did it lol). Just have an overwhelming feeling of sadness today. Trying to be kind to myself and remember that it's only been 5 weeks, it's going to take time to process.

On a positive note, today has been a NSD. I'm not sure about tomorrow, I need to buy some over the counter painkillers at some point (can only get them from Amazon), and I need more contact lenses as I only have 3 pairs left and I'll need more than that for the festive season. I last bought them in Feb so they work out pretty cheap. If I feel up to it tomorrow I might go into town and see if I can get a gillet for my Dad for xmas. He had a stroke earlier this year, and lost the use of one of his arms, and his big thing is putting jumpers and coats on, and he's mentioned gillets before.

I'm going to try and do some gentle yoga now and then have dinner (lentil bolognese from the freezer). Hope everyone's having a better day than me :)

  • That sounds like a pretty productive day for feeling the way you do. It’s a rough time of year to be processing a fresh break up too, be gentle with yourself.

Hi astrocytic kitten, thank you, yes I suppose for the day I've had I've not done too bad. I even had a sob while I was mopping - I mean, I do hate mopping, but not that much :rotfl:it is a horrible time for a breakup, but apparently it's quite common this time of a year, as xmas brings feelings to the forefront. I'm just glad I didn't have to buy birthday and xmas presents for him and his family this year, he was always so ungrateful and wasteful and I hate money (and time and effort choosing the thing) being wasted like that.

On a positive note I did £5 worth of surveys on PA, so once they've all been approved that's another £5 for the CC.

Yoga didn't happen but I'm going to call it a day, go to bed early and try to get a lot of my book done (Transcription by Kate Atkinson, I don't really go for war books but this is really good). I signed up to my local library late last month and I get free ebooks, but you only get them for 3 weeks, and I have 4 days left before I have to return this one. Can't complain when it's free though, can you!:money:

  • I also got Transcription through my library ebook scheme, that thing has saved me so much money this year! I’m a big Kate Atkinson fan, but if I remember rightly wasn’t so sure about this one near the start. Loved it in the end though, and also found myself thinking about it a lot in the week or so after I’d finished it which is pretty rare for me!

This is the third time writing this post now so hopefully it works
astrocytic I'm at 83% and really enjoying it. What else would you recommend by her? I love the ebook service, I spend/spent a lot on ebooks, so being able to get at least some of them for free makes a huge difference. I read a lot and fast, and that's not something I want to give up through money saving!

Tahlullah thank you, a lot of people have said that to me, I think I'm quite resiliant, and I've had the support of friends and family which has helped a lot - people coming to sit with me in the evenings/spend the night, hosting me at theirs to take my mind off. It really does take a village.

So some spends to report :o I walked into town and got my dad the gillet for £10 from the xmas fund. Also bought myself a pearl jumper from the xmas fund. I've wanted one for the past few years and I'm not going to feel bad as I feel great in it :T also spent £4 on wine that I don't need but is going down very nice right now :money: that wasn't from the xmas fund though, that would be too cheeky :rotfl:

I've done almost £7 on PA, so will wait until that gets to £20 then send to CC. My monzo round-up pot is at £20, so will send to CC now and adjust sig.

My mum brought round a dress tonight, as the one I thought I'd wear for the second (fancy) xmas do on Thursday isn't in my flat  this one actually works out well though (and still fits after 6 years lol) so panic over for that. Definitely didn't want to buy a new one.

Emotionally I've felt better today, but didn't run or do yoga like I was meant to. I'm calling tomorrow a fresh start - I'll be back at work and back in my routine which I think will help me.

Cat2 seems to have hurt his leg as he cries when I touch it. I'm hoping it's just his chunky bum jumping off a height and landing weird, and he'll feel better. He seems to be walking on it ok fine, so not broken.

I'm praying this post goes through or I will definitely cry :rotfl:

  • Also adding to here in case I forget - my MOT is due in January, and when I last got my car serviced he told me I'd have to get my brakes done before my MOT as they wouldn't pass. Must think about getting them done first week of Jan so I can then get my MOT. I have money in a car fund, but need to work out if what I have already will be enough. If I remember tomorrow I'll try and call the mechanic who did the service to see how much the brakes will be, I have £85 in the fund so may not be enough.

  • Evening everyone!

First day back at work today, not too bad considering. In a way feels good to get back into the routine.

Lunch was jacket potato and leftover baked beans from yesterday's lunch. I did spend, but it was partly planned/necessary - I spent £6.70 on a new key to give to my mum for when she pops in to see the cats, and 99p because the cleaners while I was away threw away my water bottle  rude! And £8.04 on Amazon for the OTC painkillers, I was trying to hold off but need them :( I still had a bit of a gift card leftover so that helped with the cost. Will try to not spend anything the rest of the week, other than Thursday when I may need to get a cab or something back from the xmas do.

Came home and did a 3 mile run, now waiting for the remains of the lentil bolognese to cook, and then I need to put on my xmas bedding :D and put my clothes away :(
