    Hi Jacks
Well done on your debt free ness.
I am sure that it is weird having NOT to debt bust unless you want to stay frugal.. And in some ways it has to be tempered by the money that you OH isn't bringing in at the moment. Has he been made redundant from both jobs or does he still have his second job?

That is probably bringing down your elation. At this point you should have had £'s to spend on what you like each month, whereas now that extra isn't there.

On the other hand at least it has happened now. It could have been so much worse! And the lessens you have learned along the way will keep you in good standing now

best of luck. and well done to OH on doing some education
    chev

    Hey Gorgeous one!

Hubby can still do his odd and ends jobs but he's lost his main one. he's really enjoying college though so that's a positive thing.

I'm still working all mine (but I have chilled out a little hours wise. My main job is under threat I've just heard but I don't know if that means my hours will be cut back (Which I probably wouldn't mind) or if my boss is planning to do without me entirely. (Which would be a bit:eek:   ) We shall have to see. My boss is something of a drama queen at times, so perhaps nothing will come of it....

We definitely want to keep being frugal and we 're still DFWs cos having been in horrendous debt, we definitely never want to go back there again. (I've never been the frugallest of them all though honey - just miles better than we used to be. :o )

How're things ont'other side of the world?

Congratulations. I am delighted to read your news.

The rate at which you tackled your debts is fantastic.:T :T :T That is real self discipline. The peace of mind that you will have whilst your husband is out of work because you are debt free, must be priceless.

Thank you honey. You're so-o-o-o-o right. It is a great relief to be in the position of just having to keep ourselves rather than worried sick about how the heck we're going to keep up with all the repayments. Redundancy is never afun time but there are waaaay worse times that it could have happened to us.

We have had our ups and downs with the debt repayments but Hubby says thatI'm "relentless Like Terminator" :o:D  so we have always got back on track as soon as we could afterwards.

Plus we have had loads of good luck with being able to get extra jobs when we needed them, and getting bonuses and people paying back loans etc.

Our kids have been fab. They are no angels - believe me - but they have been nothing but a help getting our finances back on track. (Although our eldest did have a bit of a hiccup about paying "keep" way back when - but his Auntie ISOM amongst others sorted him out! :D )

And leaving the best for last, if we get low and need a moan - or if something happens and we just don't know what to do then of course we have had MSE and expecially DFW to help us out with support and advice.

So it's been a group effort really. :D

Congratulations, Jacks! *So* pleased to hear you're debt free - and pleased I found this thread as well! Its making me give serious thought to an offer on my loan (imagine a wistful tone here).

And I just want to agree with what people have said about your contributions. When I see that distinctive font and size you use, I *know* that the post will be positive, thoughtful and REAL - you're amazing.

 Oh honey, what a lovely thing to say!

Careful my lovely, you'll be starting me off with the waterworks again.... :o:D

Definitely lowball your lender at first. We didn't get ours to accept our opening offer but we paid a lot less than they said we still owed and a heck of a lot less than we would have paid if we'd just carried on making the monthly payments. I need to read the paperwork again really thoroughly but I don't even think that we've signed to say that we won't claim back the PPI so I'm going after that as well! :D:D:D

MSE has created a monster! :rotfl:

Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS JACKS! I'm so happy for you :D xx

I've been really bad at updating this diary hon so it doesn't pop up very often. :o:o:o

Elsas mamma resurrected it and I'm soooooo grateful to her. It really reminded me of how things were for us not so long ago.

I've read it through a couple of times now and it really takes me back along the journey to get here.

Thanks so much for the good wishes my lovely,

  • Hi,

After reading many of your posts on here, I feel really motivated to get debt free and now I can see it works, I'm willing to give it a go.

I'm abit of an Ebay Pro, so know how to list things on there. I'm not sure where to go to earn money on these surveys etc... Please could someone help me out?

    Many Thanks!
