    Ok

Why is it the nearer I get to Christmas the less I want to it come or the happier I will be once it is over  I normally like Christmas but I'm really struggling this year.

One good thing is that I am getting the office under control but I can feel thr familiar panic at being overwhelmed with things building at home. I have so much to do and so little time to do it in. I still have to get OH's Christmas presents, hopefully we will be going at the weekend, if not I may commit murder.

I have a head ache and I am tried which isn't helping, but I just have no idea how I am going to get everything done.

I don't know I guess I am just having a bit of a bad day, I want to crawl under a rock until the new year.

Awww Lucy. Don't let the christmas season get to you. Easier said than done I know. I use Christmas as a chance to be really selfish. I do what I want, not what others want.

As for presents etc, I wouldn't worry too much about that yet either. There is still plenty of time.

I just make lists like you've done and tick em off. I sometimes try and create deadlines for myself too, like what I'd like done by what date etc.

Seriously though, it's not worth getting stressed out over.

I couldn't agree more. Part of me just wants to get it over with. I know that's stupid because I'll just have to come back to work all the sooner and normally I'd be desperate to stay away but annoyingly it seems recently that work keeps me occupied and stops me pondering anything. My new years resolution for 2008 is to practise being happy with my own company. If I practise a lot perhaps it'll even become true.

I can't wait for 2008, for some reason I have it in my head that things will be better then.

I'm going to start losing weight again, hit the debt hard, and try to be happier.

    Not much then

Just need to get through the next week, I'll be fine.

:grouphug: Group hug to everyone who feels down at this time of year.
I have every empathy with you, as its not my favourite time of year either.
Not a lot I can say really except that its not going to last forever, and before you know it , its January. Then its New Year, new things to focus on.

So.... if you can try to put aside what is happening in your life for a few days, and enjoy what you can, then it wont seem quite so bad.
    I'll be thinking of you all....:xmastree: :snow_grin

I know I will enjoy myself, I'm just struggling to find the energy at the moment.

    Thanks x

  • I hate Christmas too.

I'm a supply teacher so don't get paid in the hols. I didn't get paid much before the hols either, come to think of it, got about 12 days work last term, great, just when i'm trying to sort my debts out!

Grrr, why did i retrain to become a teacher? Little did i know there are more qualified teachers than kids in my part of the country. I reckon I'll have to move next year.
