  • Oh I hope so Fran! I can’t swim very well so I always wanted my children to be strong swimmers :o

Busy day today! The girls had their dance/drama group (which they loved! They’re doing High School Musical :D ) so I treated my mum to a coffee in Costa while they were there. I then picked up DD2 and took her & my mum back to mine, did a bit of cleaning, then went back out to collect DD1, then went home, and then we all went out for lunch. The food was good but the service was very slow which was a shame! DD2 asked the waiter if they had been asleep when he brought out the food :rotfl: My mum paid for lunch bless her. She lets me pay for cheap things, like the coffee, but will never let me pay for anything that costs more than £10! Bless her.

I also had to fill up my car with fuel & pay the drama group this month’s instalment, so a spendy day. I did get my ex’s half of the costs of the drama group sessions though, plus half of what I spent on their new clothes recently & DD1’s swimming lessons, so not too bad!

I’m dropping the girls off at their dad’s in a bit, & then will sort out the washing, have a nice hot shower, & then I think OH is coming over. So a nice relaxing evening, which is just what I need!
  • Sounds like a really good day! Enjoy your relaxing evening.!!!
  • Sunday night again! These weekends just go way too quickly for my liking. I’ve had a lovely day with OH though :) it’s been a bit spendy, but really lovely. We went out for a yummy lunch, a mooch around the shops, and then came home & watched lots of rubbish TV :D I also returned all the clothes that didn’t fit/stunk of smoke.

I’ve updated my spreadsheet & as long as I don’t spend any more that’s not already in the budget then I’ll be ok! What I’m struggling with though is the thought of not going on holiday this year, and not going to any concerts, or having fun days out. I’ve not budgeted for any of those things so if I were to book something then it would need to come from my savings. The other option is to relax my debt overpayments, which I don’t really want to do, but as work & home life is such a struggle at the moment I feel like I need something to look forward to. I’m paying chunks off the debt each month (my monthly repayments are £386.28) so I think not making massive overpayments & living a little will save my sanity, & be a nice balance!

I’ve ordered a dress in 2 sizes for the anniversary party. It looks perfect so fingers crossed! I also ordered a dress for work, a birthday present, some maths & English exercise books for DD1 (she loves doing them!) and the High School Musical DVD, seeing as the girls are doing it in their dance classes :)

Back to work tomorrow. 5 weeks until my week off though :)
  • What a week! It’s been so manic I haven’t had time to come on here! Work is still as crazy as ever... and unfortunately it seems that they won’t be employing another ‘me’ after all :( They’re trying to improve the processes and think it’ll save me enough time to do everything. Whilst I agree that the processes need to improve, I know that I’ll still be overworked, and it is going to get worse before it gets better. I’m not coping now and I’m utterly miserable there, so to think of it getting worse makes me want to cry! As such, I have done my CV, and I’ll be firing it off to agencies either tomorrow or early next week. It’s time I got out of there.

On a lighter note, I went out for dinner with 6 friends last night and had a lovely time :) The food wasn’t great, but it was cheap & it was really nice catching up with everyone. Tonight my OH is coming over, and tomorrow I’ve got another friend coming round, so I’m feeling pretty sociable which I love :D I always feel better when I have my friends & family around.

Money... I have none :rotfl: no I’m kidding, all is ok and pay day is a week tomorrow. I have budgeted for a hair appointment for me & the girls this weekend, and an eyebrow wax next week. Plus groceries, fuel and the usual stuff :)
  • TGIF!!! :j

I’m so glad that it’s the weekend! Another hellish day... I’m wondering when I’ll have a good day there? I spent some time on my lunch break looking at jobs online & I saw one that seemed perfect, so I contacted the agency who asked me to send my CV over, which I did, & then they sent me the job spec. The company happens to be one of my current employer’s suppliers! Sadly there are a few things that I don’t like the look of on the job spec, so I won’t be applying :( I don’t want to go from the frying pan into the fire, so if something really doesn’t look right then I won’t go for it.

DD1 had her swimming lesson tonight which went well. She seems to be in a funny mood though. Not sure what’s up with her. DD2 is currently colouring & talking to herself :p

My friend who was meant to be coming over tonight has cancelled so it’ll be a night of chilling & eating, & probably watching trash TV. If anyone is reading this diary then you deserve a medal because it’s so boring :rotfl:

TGIF indeed! Have a great weekend, your diary isn't boring at all!

I hope things get better with your job or you find a better one soon!
  • Thanks Jox :)

Today has been super busy and I’m exhausted! I didn’t sleep too well last night which doesn’t help (there was a helicopter hovering at about 1am, and then I heard my upstairs neighbour vomiting ). I took the girls to their dance/drama group which they enjoyed and DD2 got Star Pupil, so she was allowed to bring Ted home :D Ted is a teddy bear and we need to take pictures of her with him to put in the book. So that’ll be fun. They do the same thing at school so we’ve done it before!

After I collected them I had to rush home as my hairdresser friend was meeting us at ours to do our hair. So I now have no bad roots :) and the girls had a couple of inches chopped off so it was a pleasure to wash their hair during tonight’s showers :D

I’ve also caught up on my washing today, cleaned my bedroom, vacuumed, dusted the TV unit, and washed up about 100 times (slight exaggeration but that’s how it felt!). And watched High School Musical twice, which is now DD1’s favourite film ;)

Bed time for me soon! Not even 9pm on a Saturday night, rock n roll :rotfl:
  • Monday again! Work was... work :rotfl: 4 days until pay day and I have £24 in my account. I need to get petrol, food, & a birthday card with that! I will make it work. I refuse to dip into my savings :money:
  • Wow, almost a week since I last checked in here! :o Sorry Diary!!! I have been stressed out & busy as per usual! On the plus side, I’ve been paid :D So my bank account is now looking much better.

I may not be making any overpayments this month due to ground rent, half-term week (3 weeks to go!!), dentist appointments, and DD2’s birthday expenditure (her birthday isn’t until early April but I like to start planning/buying/booking things 2 months in advance to prevent me from panic buying and spending more). Of course it helps that there is no council tax this month but sadly the dentist appointments alone will use that saving :(

It was the ruby anniversary do last night & it was lovely. I ended up buying & wearing a black jumpsuit, which was nice & fitted well, however OH discovered a hole in it! So I’ll be sending it back next week & demanding a refund. There is no way that I could’ve made it rip and it was at the back so I wouldn’t have noticed when I tried it on.

Not much else to report. I’m still job hunting but there isn’t a lot about. I’m currently in bed so I’ll get up shortly, wash my bed sheets, & then get in the shower & decide what I’m going to do with the kids today. I’m meant to be meeting up with an old colleague and her kids but she’s a bit flakey so I’m not holding my breath on that one! :rotfl:
  • Flakey friend turned up! I couldn’t believe it :p it was nice catching up, & then in the afternoon 2 more friends came over with their children so it was a very sociable day!! And the best bit is, it was free & we didn’t have to leave the house!

DD2 and her little friend thought it’d be funny to throw toilet roll everywhere though... little !!!!!!s!!!

OH’s Bulb account is now active meaning I have received my £50 credit :D I will do another set of meter readings at the end of the month & then my account should be accurate. Hopefully I’ve used less gas this time! :o

Work was so shocking today. Sadly there are still no jobs that seem right for me so I’m staying put for now :( I’d be able to say more if this wasn’t such a public forum but I’m frightened of being discovered! I’ve booked Friday off as it’s DD2’s celebration assembly and I’ve got loads of errands to run, so at least I’ve only got 3 more working days this week.

I’m going to stick the electric blanket on now & chill (cook?) in there until I am nearly falling asleep. Night all x
