PB’s Very Exciting Diary...!

As expected, the girls were very excited when they saw their advent calendars & a bare Christmas tree that needed decorating
They have put all the baubles on but I need to get some lights as mine broke last year & I threw them away, so the tree is still looking a bit bare but I’ll get that sorted next weekend
We have had a nice Sunday so far. I’ve managed to get some housework done while they played - just need to do the lounge/kitchen area but I can do that after dinner. No point doing it before as they make so much mess still when they eat :rotfl:
We took a walk into town and £38.00 worth of items cost me £20.00 thanks to various sales and advantage card pointsGot some real bargains & freebies! I only need to get a voucher & a pressie for my dad, one more pressie for my OH, and then I’m done! I’m quite under budget and I should be able to transfer £400.00 into my debt overpayment pot once my tax credits have come in instead of £300.00 :T so I’m very pleased with myself.
My gas & electricity usage has gone up which is expected, so I may need to increase my direct debit soon. I submitted meter readings yesterday, and will do the same at the end of this month before I’ll increase it.
That’s enough waffling for today!0 -
My loan payment went out today so the new balance with my overpayment is £8,484.44 :T Also my new mortgage rate has kicked in which is saving me just over £20 a month. Not a massive saving I know, but better than an increase
All my other direct debits went out aswell today meaning my bank account is looking very sorry for itself! It’ll be better next week when the child benefit & tax credits get paid in
Work was very Monday-ish. I didn’t enjoy it really. A mixture of month end busyness and stroppy colleagues. I was glad to walk out of there. I’m usually a happy, upbeat person but some days I let other people’s negativity get the better of me
Still, I can’t complain really as it pays me a wage & overall I really like it there0 -
Work was still very meh today but on the plus side, it was a NSD! The second day in a row
I’m fact I’m up today as I got £3.26 from Top Cashback :cool:0 -
I had a child-free night last night so I went to get my nails done
I’ve been going to the same woman for 8 years, however next year she will be on maternity leave for a few months, so I’ve decided that instead of finding a temporary replacement I will save my money and have scabby nails
I like to look presentable and can’t paint my nails to save my life so I’m not looking forward to it :rotfl:
I need to go food shopping tonight but it shouldn’t cost much as I’m being taken out for dinner tonight (yay!), and already have food at home for tomorrow & Saturday‘s dinners, so I only needs to get a few bits.
Not much else to report. Having some issues with someone at work but I’m diarising everything... I don’t appreciate people being mean for no reason & wont stand for it x1 -
Evening! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! I’m just popping in quickly before Strictly starts... me & my girls love watching it together on Saturdays
Today has been a NSDYesterday wasn’t as I had to pay a bill of £11.04 (balance of a service charge invoice - the joys of living in a flat!), however I also received a cheque for £25.00 that I’d been waiting for so that was a nice surprise!
Work was better yesterday thankfullyit’s so busy at the moment but it seemed more relaxed than it had been recently. I guess everyone had that Friday feeling

Ooooo it’s been a few days since my last confession
I’m at the halfway point between pay days so this is where it gets really interesting :rotfl: it’s when all bills have been paid & I’m just plodding along waiting for the next lot of wages to hit! Luckily my child benefit got paid in yesterday, and my tax credits get paid in 3 days time, which will make my bank account look a bit healthier!
I’ve had a few people ask me if I’ve lost weight recentlyI don’t think I have, I mean I have been making healthier choices (chocolate aside! I still can’t cut it out
) but I don’t feel slimmer or anything. But it’s still nice to think that people think I’m thinner
I’m sure after Christmas they’ll all think the opposite :rotfl: :rotfl:
One of my daughters goes to Rainbows & I’m thinking of cancelling it. They gave me a slip the last time she went saying I owe them £47  Not impressed, especially considering I have already paid them the £3 a week that it costs. All she does is colour for an hour & I’m thinking it’s a bit of a waste of money. I normally have to drive back & forth with my other daughter aswell as I don’t live in walking distance & it means both girls end up going to bed late, which is annoying. If I thought it was adding a lot of value I’d let her stay but I honestly don’t think it is. She likes going but at the same time she’s not fussed if she doesn’t go. I’d rather spend the money on another class (or save it!), like dance or drama. She already goes swimming which is worth every single penny as she’s already a better swimmer than I amMy other daughter is due to start Rainbows in a couple of months but again, I’d rather her do something else. Will discuss with their dad at some point.
Just looking at my outgoings for the next couple of weeks and it’s going to be quite tight but I want to overpay this loan by £400 so badly, so I’ll make it work. I’m meeting my friend this weekend who lives a couple of hours away from me so a bit will be spent there, I’ve got an eyebrow wax appointment next week, and I’ve got to buy 2 more Christmas presents. That’s it really, other than food, fuel, childminder etc (aka standard costs)0 -
Happy General Election Day! I hope everyone has managed to vote
I have found another Rainbows group closer to home & supposedly better than the current one, so I’m thinking of moving my daughter thereShe’s at her dad’s tonight so will ask her what she thinks when I next see her
I have spent my child-free night wrapping presents, food shopping, and sorting through some paperwork. I really need to buy some folders & plastic wallets as the amount of documents I have is getting a bit crazy. They’re currently living in a kitchen drawer which is not ideal!
Friday tomorrow... hallelujah! I can not wait for the weekend, I’m so tired. It’s going to be on full on weekend though so no resting for me0 -
Hey! Hope everyone is having a good weekend! Mine has been good so far. I went out for a (cheap) meal with OH on Friday night which was nice, although there was a bit of a wait for the food. Then yesterday I met my friend & am pleased to say that it came under budget :T £17 on lunch and £1.50 on Christmas tags, plus £5 for the toll road. The traffic on the way there was awful but it was ok coming back thankfully.
Me & my girls haven’t done an awful lot so far today as I’m feeling tired. We’ve been to the supermarket, and will go out this afternoon depending on if I need to collect my mum from the train station or not. There’s a village close by with a lot of Christmas lights, so I may take the girls there when it gets dark. Will cost a couple of quid as they’re raising money for the air ambulance
9 days until pay day. Hopefully there’ll be a nice Christmas bonus in there0 -
Me & DD2 are poorly... just in time for xmas! Hopefully it’ll be gone by xmas day. I left work at 12 today because I just couldn’t face staying there much longer
I owe them 4 hours (I don’t want it to be recorded as sick) so I’ll go in on Monday I think. I was meant to have it off but I haven’t got many concrete plans so it’s no biggy.
Money wise - I’m set to increase my loan overpayment pot to £1k on 24thWhich is very exciting! I had to pay the girls’ breakfast club fees for next term the other day which set me back £500
such a lot of money but needs must.
Today the girls break up from school & I’m so glad. I think they both need a good rest. DD2 had her school nativity yesterday and she was so cute. She played a shepherd. Bless her. Just wish she wasn’t full of cold!0 -
You're doing so great! Hope you and the kiddies recover soon!0
