claremylove said:Morning everyone. Hope all are keeping well. With the preferred choice to use contactless payments, £2 coins, even any coins, are a bit of a rarity now. However, 6 little gems are now residing in my lovely pot.
i did take £200 out at the beginning of the month and banked them. That £200 has been added to my EF (premium bonds) to see if they will generate further savings 😀
Oooooh claremylove, I'm a big fan of the old Premium Bonds too - and tomorrow is what I call Little Win Day, the second working day of the month which hopefully brings a little win! I've had a run of good luck and I'm hoping it's here to stay! Hope yours do their bit to generate some further savings!
I too have no coinage to report but agree that it is a good opportunity to save money and hopefully we can turn a negative into a bit of a positive. My thoughts are with you all though, and I hope you and your loved ones stay well xxxHouse Deposit Fund - £30,000 / Fees Fund - £5,000Furniture Fund - £2,500 / White Goods Fund - £2,500 / Flooring Fund - £2,500Emergency Fund - £7,500365 Day Penny Challenge for 2025 - £601.25/£667.95 (Holiday Fund)£2 Savers Club for 2025 - £24/£200 (Christmas Fund)52 Week Card Challenge for 2025 - £235/£400 (Fun Fund)0 -

yes, £2 coins are a bit of a rarity these days. What a good ideas - changing your coins to Premium Bonds. I use to have PB before hubby and I bought our current home but I had to cash them in to help fund the move.
Fingers crossed that they will generate further savings for you.

It's getting harder to collect due to the circumstances but would like to report my pot has increased by 7 coins in the past fortnight or so! Another bonus to this situation is the saving of money in general. By the time it's over I should have enough saved to continue with the home improvements!
Yes, one of the few plus points is the savings that we are making in general saving a fortune in petrol and going out BUT the heating, electronic bills and toilet roll bill will increase. Thanks for keeping us all posted.

Thanks for checking in and keeping us updated with your £2 coin saving.
Hope you are okay and that self isolating isn't sending you stir crazy.
I have been working from home, but have finished today for the next ten days. I have only been leaving the house once a week for food and once a week for exercise. The back garden has been keeping me busy.
Stay safe and pop in once in a while to let us know that you are okay.
