If she leaves him it will only get worse, You need to sound proof the walls, Its doable for around 500 a wall if you can do most of the work yourself.

True. It's not just the bedroom, their teen seems to think it's OK to stomp around upstairs throughout the day so it'll cost an absolute fortune, it'll be cheaper to move.
  • You have my sympathy as we've been there with past neighbours. I think the steps are firstly trying to get the neighbours to understand how terrible it is for you and secondly going to the council. Not great, but there seem to be little other options - why people are so inconsiderate I just don't know!

You might want to try a dog whistle. I considered this when we had a problem, however we were lucky enough to move before it effected us too much. I've copied this from google....

A dog whistle makes a noise that won't disturb humans and won't harm dogs, but the high frequency will annoy any pooch that can hear it. ... It may cause more barking at first, but if the pup comes to associate their barking with the irritating whistle sound, they may eventually stop barking to avoid the noise.

It's probably a long shot but may be worth a try... I believe dog whistles are relatively cheap. Hope you get to sort it out soon as you should not have to live like that. And it probably will end up a council job... !!!!!! what they think!
  • I also work permanent nights and as someone else has already posted, I sleep with a fan on 365 days a year.

The white noise drowns out my neighbours annoying German Shepard that also barks none stop from the moment they leave the house in a morning.

Once in a blue moon I put speaks to the wall with the volume quite high playing music before I go to work, they can have a taste of their own medicine trying to sleep through that racket.
