navy navy is great with grey sounds nice. We’ve found another mustard that’s really nice think we’ve got there now. Managed to get stuff from the loft and move all the kitchen stuff into the kitchen. Still room for more stuff but I do have a lot in London too. Need a bit of a cull I think. Dg got all her pool bar stuff down and we found a pot and a frying pan up there brand new so now just need a small frying pan and a large pot. None of my old pots works for induction so off the the charity shop.

Tired so early night here back to work tomorrow the joys.

Thanks all we are finally getting there now.
Spoke to Neff the extractor can actually sit much lower than he said if we get a custom made back splash. Tried it and my god it's huge the one Howdens chose for us. Neff found a smaller one but then I thought issue is I'm tall and it right in the way so found this one https://www.neff-home.com/uk/productlist/extractor-hoods/wall-installation/angled-chimney/D65IEE1S0B#/Tabs=tab-3455333/

It can be fitted lower due to the angle but obviously much easier to work with as does not stick out so much and block the corner off with all the new shelves.  Here are a couple of pictures not sure I've shared them before if I have sorry.

Also found the splash back and ordered that only £50 so not bad and I don't have to have the upstand altered which would have been a mess. Ordered the bifold doors but won't get here for 2weeks. Carpenter still waiting for wood for window ledge and painter starts on Monday.

Friend and flatmates came over this evening her mum might like our sofa in London and as we have the same one here she could try it.

My friend and I have both given notice and now company is trying to charge DG full rent. We've asked them to find new guardians for the other rooms we shall see.  If dg is only there one day a week it's not an issue and I certainly don't have to be there more than once a month when I go to Leeds.

Work busy but interesting lots to do but I've got Monday off. Dg could not take the day off but at least I can get on with some house stuff. 50th birthday on Saturday look forward to having friends over but could not even get a 50 candle for my small carrot cake. Sad really but I'll celebrate next year.

Time to go to bed I think really tired.

Thanks I had a really good day with my two friends and dg. We were in the pool and hot tub and then had a long lunch of Danish sandwiches which was lovely. Lovely presents too a gps for golf from dg, money from my mum to buy something special and Acer for shade from friends plus birthday cake. Lots of fun but my god did I suffer the next day. I had loads of messages and calls with my family miss them terribly but no good trying to fly over right now.

Sunday went out for proper Sunday roast at a country pub near ex fil we used to go to all the time but nice to go there with dg.

Today I'm up early as the painters are here already put wash on and changed the bed. Need to sort all the appliances out registering the warranties etc. So a long list for today not sure I'll get it all done but I'll try. Here are some pictures from my birthday.

Lots of stuff has happened in a week eek. I was quite productive on Monday but still a long list of stuff to do. I did go to pump it was great we've cancelled PT was not really working but now classes are back no reason we can't just do that and some stuff early mornings. Lovely day yesterday lazing by the pool might do same today that's the joys of this house perfect chill out garden you feel like you're on holiday.

last day for painters today cannot wait until they are done everything else will come during the week and all be done by Thursday I hope. If not last thing will be an oak window ledge in the lounge and kitchen but carpenter will come as soon as it's in stock.

No news on the flat cancelled bills but dg still needs to apply for single persons discount. Friends who was also flatmate wants our sofa and chair from the flat they can have it for free if they help us move it. As we don't know if dg will keep her room difficult to know if we need to clear it all out or just some of it. We will go up by van on a Saturday and collect what we need to depending on outcome of guardian company. Dg still needS to talk to work but he's back Monday so that can then start.  Saving £275 in rent plus less bills is great though.

A bit of a sad tale re dgs plans of getting a btl. She has not got a pension and she wants to  money her mum left her to get a btl which she can pay off while working and then live on the rental income.  She has been talking to a broker for months who said all was fine go ahead. Finally saw a place that was perfect in our own town actually adorable little one bed house. Applied for the dip with NatWest only to be turned down.  Looked at Equifax and electoral roll but seems to be mobile phone and joint current account that's in the old address.  Mobile sorted was not her error but Santa cannot change anything quicker so might take a month or more before credit ref will know. Also shows big balance on our Amex debit card as we bought kitchen on it and I paid it straight off. She is so down about it all but noting can be done until it's updated and we can try again. You can only really try 3 times in a year.

So there we are Sunday hopefully get some chores done with pool and golf too. Hope you all have a lovely hot day.

The party and your home looked great TG.  Not sure that next year can top what you had.  It looks lovely and intimate for close friends.

Sorry t hear about DG's application falling through.  As you said, you can hope it gets sorted in time and that hopefully, no-one else comes in and buys it first.  Will keep fingers crossed.

Thanks for your support Tahlullah means a lot yes I was fab.  More fab days in the pool at lunchtime and then again in the evening. Invited next doors three boys for a dip one evening they loved it. Got a day off today was meant to have one of DGs friends coming to stay but did not happen so kept the day off which is nice.

Raining here but lovely last night played nine holes and it wasn't too hot. Today I'm going into town to get a birthday present to send to my lovely friend in Cornwall she is 60 this year.  Cleaner coming at lunchtime so can finally put stuff back downstairs and sort out rooms will be so good.

Cleaning the flat on Saturday week well dg has not had the conversation yet with her manager so still not sure if it's just some bits or all of it. A lot will be binned but a lot will have to come down here and also be sorted. Won't be time to sell anything unfortunately but we shall see if she's staying or going not heard anything from the Guardian company.  I'm not sure what I would prefer it's quite a but to pay the bills on your own but if only 1/3 rent it's not too bad really. Handy for me when I need to go back to Leeds really otherwise it's a long long day.

Dg has corrected what she can on the credit file so two addresses updated and we think the large Amex balance for the kitchen could be an issue. She's lower faith in the broker to helped her so asked if I could ask my IFA if he knew anyone. Turns out he does mortgage and he said to wait one month which is fine. They called her about the little cottage it's still there so that's good might even get it at a good price as she's desperate to sell.

Money wise the building budget is now spent but not a lot else to pay for other than final tidy up by builder and the window boards which we still cannot get. Bifold doors arrive Thursday so hoping all can be done by then.

Got some more stuff off along Tall Sally they close end of this month. Have to loose weight to fit into it first but determined to try and eat less and gym more. Trying to go first thing in the mornings until gym classes resumes.

    Have a lovely Friday everyone.
