Cor blimey! I have just managed to catch up with everyone's threads since Friday evening as I don't go on the computer at the weekend.

Only get to read when my boss isn't looking, sometimes it takes all day, but hey, it makes the day go that little bit quicker.

Can't spend time reading at lunch as I have to finalise my Tesco order for tomorrow (got a bit of shifting about to do and it should be done).

Hi to everyone, really can't keep up with names. Will get better though once I start to learn who everyone is. :hello: :hello:

Right! So, what have I been up to? Got to work at 8.01am, tut tut 1 minute late. But before that I managed to prepare tonight's dinner which is pork chops in a bbq type marinade. Got the sauce ready last night, so all I had to do was put the chops in the lasagne dish and pour sauce over. BF is very good, if he comes home for lunch, he will turn them all over even though I don't ask him to. ;) Got him well trained.

Made him a fruity loaf type thing in the breadmaker last night which meant I couldn't make any actual real bread, but never mind. I only made the fruit loaf cos lodger won't eat it (don't like raisins) and he managed to finish off the sponge cake I made.

Know I'm a bit slow, but I love the rooster dishcloth. Am planning on making one cos I like the pattern and it seems fairly easy (not very OS though having to go John Lewis for the wool cos I am so impatient though, is it? Might hold off on that one  ). Haven't knitted in ages (I'm only 26, does that make a diff), last thing I made was a huge blanket that everyone goes under when they are ill - it's probably gives them more bugs than they start with! :rotfl:

Penpen - can I have the pattern for the penguin one, like the sound of that!

Charlies Mum - Sky + is great, not very MS, but I wouldn't be without it.

Thriftlady - can I have the recipe for Chinese minced pork as well please? Sounds nice!

Some people on here have been using their TD, I haven't got one. Just wondered how much money they actually do use? Done without one for long enough, should I carry on as I am and not get one till I have kids, or should I buy one?

Essex Girl - my dad works in that hospital, small world, eh? He's not a specialist though, so doubt you bumped into him.

Redruby - well done for giving blood. I tried when I was 18, but they said I didn't weigh enough. They got the scales out and everything! You have to over 7stone 10lbs to give blood. 8 years and 2 stone later, I could give them plenty!!!

Okay, a few questions so I can try and be more OS:-

A lot of people make lasagne and put in freezer. Can you make the whole lot and keep it there. Up to now, I've always just made the bolegnese sauce and then make up the lasagne when I actually want to cook it?

I have seen a few threads re lamb on here. I've always thought this was quite expensive, what are the cheapest bits to use? I have a new recipe to try out on Saturday which uses minced lamb, but just wondered if there were any others?

Ho hum, don't think I have anything else to add, just to say that I am saving money on alcohol as am trying for baby ;), but seem to have taken up coffee instead. Is this one of the million things I'm not supposed to be drinking while trying / pregnant?

Sorry if I seem a bit random, while I read through all the threads, I make a note of what to say and then bung it all together. :rotfl:

    Afternoon all

Had a huge ironing mountain to wade through this morning - it's all done now though along with the stuff I do for my friend. Beds were all stripped and everything is now washed and dry and ready to put back on - damp here today so used the TD - it does rack up the electric but sometimes it's just darn handy for those big items that you can't have hanging around.

Jacket spuds for dinner with various toppings but I might go have a peek at the sainsburys toy sale when DH gets home, might be able to stock up on some bits for the pressie box.

This afternoon I shall be trying to fix a venitian blind and cleaning the wardrobe mirrored doors before going to pick up DD2.

    What an exciting life!

Hope you all have a wonderous afternoon.

    Hello again

Have sorted everything out with the council :)

OH got the job :j. I hope he enjoys it, except he'll be self employed so guess who will have to do his tax return . When he is on his feet again, I am going to try and encourage him to get his tickets renewed, as he is really a sparky at heart.

Right, now I am going to bed.

    .

Hi pollyanna, no danger at al of me being under weight :rotfl: , im not over weight either, but am 5ft 11 in me socks. So plenty of blood to go round.

Having said that I was halfway through giving my pint, when they noticed a brusie on my arm from a blood test last week at the hospital. They asked why I had blood taken and I told them I am due to go in for a minor op next tuesday, well one of the women went mad at me, saying you should have told us, there is nothing on the form to say about future ops, just past ones. Anyhoo the upshot was that they would not let me give any more, said I might need it myself next week. Bit disapointed but I tried.

Re the lasagne, I always make up a whole one and put it in freezer, tastes good and there's nothing wrong with me :D

Still waiting in for DD's balloon, I phoned the company but they said it might still turn up, I bet it comes tomorrow when I am at work  , and too late for me to pick it up for her birthday. Will have to get a refund, specifically asked for it today.

All jobs done for the day, so might just spend the afternoon surfing

    Hugs to all

    Sue

i love porridge too... but with golden syrup poured ontop !!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget the cream on it too! Now you know why it is a rare treat.:rotfl: :rotfl:What with that and a chunky Kitkat for lunch, and F&C last night, I will be glad when I can get back to real food.

Floor being laid as I type, some doors still to come but things progressing nicely.

Last few times the Blood Donor sessions have been local I have been away, how they manage to time it when I am not here I have no idea:rolleyes: . Anyway there is one before Xmas so we will make that, but then it could get awkward.

Went to Dr. to tell them diagnosis/treatment from Spain, Dr said no use showing me MRI scans I don't understand them:eek: . Not really heard of the tablets either, luckily I did bring enough home with me and they were not that expensive 19€. Really interested about keeping my records up to date with treatment received/diagnosis made! Don't know why I bothered had a 8.25 am appointment - got in at 9.10:rolleyes:. Back home, and then off to the shops for new electric sockets for the kitchen, plumbing bits and Lidl. I went for their Chocolate Wellness Flakes - they've discontinued them in the UK!

    Have fun

    Good Afternoon All

Got back from work this a-noon, to find a note pushed through the door, I missed the engineer (for my TD repair) by 25mins! Now it took a further 18mins to attempt to call & re-schedule for another day. Only the chap I spoke too was rather rude & stroppy, I had to put the phone down. I called back & complained. Ive requested another pm appt, but only hope & prey that they turn up when Im home, We will see. I just hope that nothing else goes wrong this year! Ive had my fair share! TV, Cooker, F/freezer & now the TD! Nothing else pleeeaaaase!

Ive had to put a claim in with paypal for item not received. Been waiting over 2wks for some lotion Ive ordered for OH's psoriasis! My friend asked me for advise, ref payments/sending items etc. It appears to me (but I hope its not the case) that he's been scammed! We will see.

Off to get some ironing done now, then make a start on dinner

  • Hello there.

Breast of lamb is one of the cheapest cuts. If you get it boned and rolled you can stuff it and roast it.

The thing is the cheaper lamb bits can be fatty but you can cut that off.

I found a while back in Sainsbury a pack of lamb for stewing for about £3 - it contained a couple of shanks (small mind you) and few ribs and the like. Have to say I haven't looked for it for a while though. Pad with veg and it's plenty to freeze too.
