Vision express....Compensation???

I had my eyes tested on the 11th October I had my sunglasses a couple of days later as they had to be re-done as they were scratched. I am STILL waiting for my new glasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was told 2-3 weeks as I have complex lenses.....this is 6 weeks now ( I think) I have to keep phoning up as they dont bother to update me and they still are not ready! The lenses kept breaking as they coted them aparently and they changed from glass to plastic it is now 2 weeks and still ive heard nothing. I am expecting compensation after waiting this long so provided I do actually get them how much should I recieve?
I did get a good deal on them but not waiting this long Ive only waited a week before max...and they havent changed that much I just wanted new glasses...good job really as if they were broken I would have been without for far too long!
Thank's Sarah x:mad:

What expense have you had to make that you need compensation for? What has this cost you? Thats the amount you can claim compensation for. You can't claim or expect compensation for a delay, unless it's caused you an expense of some sort which was unavoidable.0

Have you paid anything?
Cancel and go elsewhere. You have your prescription and if you search on line you will find the same (or very similar) cheaper."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

As far as compensation goes, you should get approximately nothing. All you can do is cancel the order and go elsewhere.0

I don't understand what you want compensation for.
Would you rather they finished them in 1 week and handed you a shoddy poorly made pair of glasses where the lenses keep breaking??
You said yourself you need complex lenses, so they probably just underestimated how difficult they were going to be to get right!
By all means go in and cancel your order, but at least they were honest with you and said they were having difficulties, which another shop will probably have too, so you could be waiting even longer for your glasses!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
You could ask for a goodwill gesture discount for waiting longer than they promised in return for not cancelling (note also you may not have the right to cancel legally unless a time period was specified as part of the order).
Specsavers gave my wife a 10% discount when it took longer than the 2 weeks they said it would.0 -
You are whats wrong with this country. Why on earth do you deserve compensation? You have not been left financially out of pocket so what would they be compensating you for? You've have had the choice all along to cancel your order...0

Specsavers made a mistake on on the dispensing form for some sunglasses, as a goodwill gesture they gave me a refund. It did take several weeks before i got them though.
Boots made a massive mistake with some sunglasses, i just got a refund, wasnt expecting anything else. Although i did post here at the time as i wasnt even expecting to get a refund! Edited to add, i returned the glasses to Boots and declined their offer of a new pair.0 -
I think they only thing you can as for is a reduction for the inconvenience, i dont see what exactly you need compensation for, if the glasses were that important i would of told em to shove em and gone elsewhere.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

go live in america if you expect compensation for things like this and tbh our country will be far better off without people who cry for compensation at the slightest thing.0

Well :rotfl: I do expect some sort of discount as compensation as ive been waiting 6 weeks ...for a new pair of galsses!!!
They are not that COMPLEX either as I said they havent really changed and ive only had to wait a week before so that rubbish!
The point of compensaion is that you expect proper service and when you dont recieve it then they should learn by compensating you. They diddnt keep me informed I HAD TO KEEP PHONING and then speak to the manager, why cant people read the post properly.
And FYI they took payment 6 weeks ago when I ordered so I am out of pocket interest on my money for the past 6 weeks:p
Thanx anyway lol
