TBH it was pointed out to me yesterday by someone clearly far more observant than I am, and on un-ignoring I saw it.

On this occasion I actually have quite a lot of sympathy for him, as I think he's been played to the nth degree by 'Team Denial' who would rather have threads disrupted by false negative opinion, than pro G&E science and facts, but this isn't new, and it will happen again, and again, and .........

I presume a member of "Team Mart" was behind the Ape's PPR? Is anyone going to own up?

It's probably far more likely that is related to returning to previous form where admin warnings related to continual 'off topic' posting, content relevance & arguing without the provision of source links to inform discussion were provided specifically towards GA (eg: raising highly skewed benefits nuclear on almost every thread discussing various RE technologies) .... after a period of compliance, the same profile started to post in the same old way ...

... don't worry though, the person behind the GA profile has almost certainly been PPR'd previously, only to reappear in a newer 'friendly' guise, before soon reverting to type & resurrecting the same old arguments ...

... Next profile please, past experience shows it usually only takes a few hours/days!! .... maybe alternate profile(s) already exist ... :cool:

Is this another example of arguing without scientific evidence? I'm guessing the truth is it was too many cases of too many people getting fed up of being dragged back into the same old arguments without decent quality scientific rationale. If someone can remember any of of GAs posts which got deleted we might work out what the final offence was. But as others have suggested, I'd expect it to be something along the lines of trolling.

On another note, I didn't realise this had happened either and can't see the new status. I use Safari.

Hope we can get back to clean scientific fact and debate (at least for a while) and if that puts me into the status of being a member of Team Mart then I feel very honoured to be such.

As there supposedly aren’t any moderators on this forum then either someone on this board is a member of the admin team or someone complained to admin. If the former, then discussion can be censored in favour of the admin members point of view. In those circumstances it would be helpful if the admin member’s identity were known. On the other hand if someone snitched to admin then why don’t they just come clean and admit it?

Pray tell me how we are going to get back to debate if only posts that comply with the views of Team Mart are allowed?

... you'll note that each time a warning was made it specifically followed a period of GA creating artificial argument on the forum, something along the lines of creating false and diversionary arguments involving nuclear when discussing wind or solar, ICEVs when discussing EVs or totally irrelevant & most unlikely exotic technological heating solutions on threads discussing heat pumps & other RE based technologies ... considering the admin posts above are from this sub-forum, someone must have looked & noticed!

Note that the GA profile was created on 02/11/16 and within a short period was targetting threads & individuals using the same set of arguments as previous profiles had used earlier in 2016, one having been PPRd 04/16 & another (confirmed to have been a previous posting profile for GA!) having stopped being used at the end of 10/16 after deleting hundreds of posts in an attempt to deliver a "show me where I ever said that" defence after proof of misrepresentation & falsehoods had been achieved by others, only to have a number of members point to posts which included the content of the deleted posts within embedded quotes resulting in a total loss of credibility and further post deletion!! .... :eek::o:(

Whatever you may believe, there are definitely trolls that target particular subjects, boards & individuals for some reason or other ... maybe we'll never know the reasoning for their particular attention, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist or can't be called out and/or moderated when their level of trolling interferes with the site operator's desired operation of the board ... after all, what's the use of MSE & others having boards for discussing things considered 'green & ethical' when individuals and those with vested interests are intent on disruption to a point where 'green & ethical' discussion can't really take place.

I can buy PV, thermal & home batteries ... I can insulate my house ... I can choose to buy electricity from supplier A over B ... I can grow my own veg in my own garden, but I'm not responsible for planning the future energy strategy for the whole planet or even the small corner of it called the UK, and I doubt that anyone on this forum has any different a position of power on this point than myself either, yet there are individual that tend to think more of their importance & influence in society than they should realistically expect to impose ....

If these individuals have issues with the government then they should stop skulking away under an anonymous profile in an internet forum then stand up and lobby their MP ... same for the claims of solutions that are better & cheaper than existing proposals - if that is the case then surely some corporate body or influential group somewhere would have interest in making or saving money ... but no, why do all that good & profitable work when you can simply sit back and troll ?? - could the reason be that the outcome of such an approach is already known and the intent is, and has always been, simply to create displeasure to others! ...
