If you simply have to have a massive SUV/truck, then it's better to be a BEV!

The HUMMER Returns As An Electric Vehicle — 1,000 Horsepower, 0–60 MPH In 3 Seconds
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

For those who need more they can top up 150 miles on a supercharger during a break they don't need to invest in expensive inefficient additional wireless chargers which will add cost and weight and things to go wrong.
    Or do this

Production of the Tesla Semi all-electric truck maybe six months ahead of schedule, as Virginia-based JK Moving Services says it is expecting its first deliveries of the all-electric semi-truck in the second half of 2020 or earlier

As for ICE numbers falling why do you think this is likely

Because I think that people will buy EVs instead. What percentage of car sales were EV 10 years ago? What percentage is it now? 2%? What will it be in 10 years? I very much hope you're wrong about 2030 vs 2020, and you're right that it will be driven by cost. I just hope you're wrong about the balance between the prices.
If ICE numbers contract, which won't happen this decade, ICE will get cheaper because they will be running down their industry

So there's no such thing as economy of scale? How does running down an industry reduce costs? Will ICE manufacture be subsidised by EV sales?!!
Why would they? They are not a charity

So you don't know. I don't either. You can't say how much manufactuers (not Tesla) are subsidising, or not, their EVs. You're just guessing, then using it factually in your arguments.
We both now agree !!!! doesn't just keep falling in price

I never argued that stuff fell in price forever. No-one here did that I see. Some idiots you talked to years ago seemed to tell you this about solar panels, and you seem very angry about it.
And companies can always (or at least for a very very long time) just draw patterns on the same A4 sheet of pattern with smaller and smaller font

Err, I just made the point that they CANNOT just keep printing smaller and smaller, there IS a limit. We're down to, what, 7nm now? How far can it go?! It won't be for a very very long time, we've already had that very very long time, and silicon atoms are still the same size.
So the question is where are we on the EV cost curve
Still at the point prices just keep falling rapidly
Or near the point prices stabilise and stop falling?
Neither of us know the answer to this

Sure, we can only speculate. I've demonstrated that batteries have doubled in capacity, at retail, in 6 years, at the same price. That was fast. It won't happen again, in 6 years. You think we've already had our fun, or a lot more of it. We disagree on how much more, and how fast, the prices will drop. It's speculation, so there's no right answer.
But with the model s price not having fallen for 8 years one wonders how much EV prices can fall from here.....

You. Are. Not. Reading. My. Posts. Or you are, and you're deliberately ignoring my suggestions about Tesla and why they, specifically, aren't dropping prices.
One can point to the model s price not falling for 8 years.....
Or the model 3 for nearly 3 years now no price falls....

No, you've pointed to that umpteen times, I've countered it re: Tesla, and given examples re: other manufacturers, and you appear to have gone selectively blind.

    Hi

From your set of replies it certainly looks like GA is still employing a 'unique' data set based on very dodgy foundations then ...

I find it incredulous that anyone these days would expect to be taken seriously when repeatedly regurgitating already debunked argument ... in basic terms any comparison in price trends needs to not only consider the monetary value but also encompass a form of rebased value baseline to mitigate inflationary effects as well as allowing for potential model specification changes over the period being analysed ....

Anyway, as already mentioned and provided links to reference, contrary to assertions made regarding pricing, Tesla have reduced the price of both models raised above, but just to back that up here's an article covering a major adjustment last year ... (note the highlighted text so it can't easily be overlooked!!) ...
.... the company also dramatically reduced the starting price of its other cars, the Models S and X. Each version of those cars now costs between $12000 to $18000 less than they did earlier this week.
    Link ... ( https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/1/18246001/tesla-model-s-and-model-x-price-cuts )

Now that certainly looks like a real term price reduction happening within a period of less than a week which would be considered by many 'well balanced' individuals as ample evidence to counter an ongoing string of unsupported assertions ... this is exactly the approach we've come to expect from [STRIKE]Ca..., ce..., gr..., MF..., The.., Is..., Nico... [/STRIKE] many disruptive 'individuals'!

... and all that from a company which has successfully demonstrated an ability to move into profit whilst heavily investing in both new product lines & rapid expansion, so whether the lingering taste is considered sweet or sour is no longer the issue at hand .... it's happening and will continue to happen, so those that don't currently like the flavour simply need to work on adjusting their taste palate ..

Hiya. Just in case you haven't noticed, GA has been PPR'd.

It's taken a very long time, but is the fate that typically results for 'pawns' who are 'thanked' (played) on here by certain posters.

Thanks for all the effort you put into dispelling the spin, myths, FUD and general pointless negativity being promoted.

I couldn't remember what PPR meant so looked it up in the FAQs.

Hiya, if you look at a post, you will see 'PPR' underneath his username.

TBH it was pointed out to me yesterday by someone clearly far more observant than I am, and on un-ignoring I saw it.

On this occasion I actually have quite a lot of sympathy for him, as I think he's been played to the nth degree by 'Team Denial' who would rather have threads disrupted by false negative opinion, than pro G&E science and facts, but this isn't new, and it will happen again, and again, and .........
