I feel quite sad as I can no longer claim trouble free ownership.

Was just a sticky cable freed it off and seems good.
Will probably still have to replace it at some oiunt, but gained a couple of months I reckonWest central Scotland

So it has disc brakes which are operated by your normal foot brake, and an inboard drum brake which your foot(hand) brake operates.
Binding was my issue also, disc was fine, sliding calipers all nice and free, but inboard drum had a large clection of brake dust, that was causing the squeeling and binding was primarily due to the nsr parking brake cable being a bit seized.
You have mentioned before that you have a 15 plate leaf also, so I'd guess it will be same for youWest central Scotland

The rise of BYD continues

They've got a great range of vehicles but haven't had the volume to go beyond China before. Now it seems they've managed to increase their scale so European deliveries are possible.

They're the most likely company to challenge Tesla in the volume stakes at the moment.8kW (4kW WNW, 4kW SSE) 6kW inverter. 6.5kWh battery.3 -

Hi. Sticking with BYD's tremendous success, and also Inside EV's, this article gives some great data for comparing H1 2022 to 2021. BYD's market share growth is incredible:World’s Top 5 EV Automotive Groups Ranked By Sales: H1 2022

Fast charging battery tech for small applications, like mopeds. Sounds good, but not a lot of detail, but always good to hear of other possible technologies to spread the BEV demand across more materials.
Lithium Carbon Battery From Allotrope Energy Can Recharge In 90 Seconds
Allotrope Energy in the UK says it has developed a lithium carbon battery for mopeds and scooters that can be recharged in as little as 90 seconds. The new battery is being supplied to manufacturers by Mahle Powertrain, a global Tier One supplier to the automotive and mobility market.
This is not some pie in the sky laboratory experiment. Lithium carbon batteries from Allotrope Energy are expected to be available in production vehicles before the end of this year. If EV charging times can be shortened significantly, many of the fears people have about electric vehicles will be eliminated.Beyond its high specific power, another advantage of the lithium carbon chemistry is that it does not use cobalt or nickel, two elements that pose supply-chain concerns for manufacturers of conventional lithium-ion batteries. Cobalt in particular has limited availability. “You could not electrify all the cars in this world with cobalt — we simply don’t have enough,” says Wilson.

Coastalwatch 2022 Renewable Energy EV Tour 19th - 31st July.2018 Nissan Leaf 40kWh, 24,506 miles on clock, Range 160 ish miles!B&B’s Gloucester – 3 nights, Cardiff – 2, Rhayader - 3 & Caer Menai-4Highlights!Meeting up with Mart & Missus and together attending the Ripple open day at Graig Fatha and getting to drive his EV, affectionately called TiMmY.Visits to Elan Valley Dams/reservoirs where five Hydro plants are in use.Centre for Alternate Technology who have their own hydro, PV and small scale wind turbines.Dinorwig- Electric mountain - made it up to Marchlyn Mawr to view the top two reservoirs and entrance to tunnel!Tour of the Llanberis Slate mining Factory.Also:-Uskmouth Power station, Slimbridge Bird Sanctuary, Gigrin Farm, Caernarfon CastleSteam train rides - Caernarfon to Porthmadog & Porthmadog to Bleunau Festiniog,297 miles on the last day back home.Total miles 954 - Energy delivered 230.5 kWh’s – 4.138 m/kWh or 242 W’s/m.While charge pumps and locations worked well for us there were a couple of occasions where we had the frustration of pumps being out of order or charging and having to wait or risk moving on but in the main all went according to plan. At one of those a bank of 12 Tesla chargers, with eight in use, stood tantalisingly across the car park. But for the extra £25k to have purchased one then I guess an addititonal half hour was tolerable. We also discovered pumps in two locations, newly installed and not showing on Zapmap so a pleasant surprise especially as we used both.Upon arrival home the Leaf claimed 5m/kWh so different to above. While a few of the minor FOC charge totals were estimated so may account for some of this presumably there are losses to consider between energy delivered from source and that received in the battery. I’ve heard the expression round trip efficiency stated as circa 80% in relation to battery charge/discharge!After charging back up to 100% the Leaf display suggested a range of 187miles when previously it had been no higher than 171 even when new. Previous long journeys had been completed in either early March or October so possibly this higher figure can be attributed to the warmer temperatures/ longer distances enjoyed on this trip!Previous to our tour I'd never look further than 120 miles to first charge. I now realise that in summer 150 is quite doable and we certainly could have made 297 mile trip home on one charge as opposed to two had I done so!Chargers used:-Gridserve Chademo 50kW - 48p/kWhPod Point 7kW – 25pkWh and if lucky FOC!Dragon Charge 7kW - 35p/kWhTesla Destination 7kW - £1 connection fee plus 40p/kWh.Marts car Charger – FOCGranny cable 3kW – FOC

Oh well, it can't always be good news. UK PEV sales have fallen a bit, and whilst BEV's are doing OK YoY, still a bit disappointing.
UK Plugin EV Share Shrinks In July, BEVs Still Growing
The UK auto market saw plugin electric vehicles take 16.7% share in July, down from 17.1% year on year. BEV share grew, but not enough to outweigh PHEVs’ lower share. Overall auto volumes were down 9% YoY, to 112,162, the lowest July in over 16 years. Hyundai was the leading brand in UK BEV sales in July. The YTD result for plugins now stands at 20.3% share (14.0% BEV) from 14.8% (8.2% BEV) YoY. So BEVs are still growing share well, but PHEVs are falling overall. BEV volumes have grown by around 50% YTD, against an overall auto market down 11.5% in volume.Mart.
