I've been seeing loads of items on this for a few days now, but was waiting to see if it was true or not. Given the large number of 'stories' all with similar claims, it would seem to at least have legs. So, Tesla announced new pricing for the TMY in China, 1 to 2 months before deliveries start. It seems that they have cut prices by 30%, and that they may have taken around 100,000 orders within 10hrs before their system failed to update (I think the update reference is a reflection of the estimated delivery date of around 2 months, which would not, of course, have remained true for very long).
Tesla’s Shanghai-made Model Y gets rousing reception as Chinese buyers rush to place orders for competitively priced SUV
Tesla's Model Y SUV sales surge in China thanks to sharp price markdown

New electric cars 2021: what’s coming and when?
This is not an exhaustive list of all the new EVs we might expect, and doesn’t include the Chinese contingent, but but gives an indication of the huge choice that will be available to new car buyers. It is too early to predict which will succeed and which won’t but the customer will be spoilt for choice. The EV cake has got bigger this year and will grow even more next year but with so many choices the cake will inevitably end up being sliced more thinly.Northern Lincolnshire. 7.8 kWp system, (4.2 kw west facing panels , 3.6 kw east facing), Solis inverters, Solar IBoost water heater, Mitsubishi SRK35ZS-S and SRK20ZS-S Wall Mounted Inverter Heat Pumps, ex Nissan Leaf owner)2 -

So best selling car in the UK in December - that would be a BEV, as would be the 4th best selling!

Chief executive Gerry Keaney added: “The latest BVRLA data shows that the fleet sector continues to lead the charge towards zero-emission motoring, with battery electric vehicles responsible for 21% of company car registrations in the three months to October 2020.”

More on the massive shift to BEV's in the UK in 2020 up from 2019. I wonder what 2021 will bring, will we push up slowly and steadily from the annual figure of 6.6%, or perhaps start somewhere closer to where we ended the year. Either way it's all good, and making 2030 plans/targets seem fine.
New UK EV Record – Almost Quarter Of UK Auto Sales Now Plugins!
The UK’s plugin electric vehicle market hit new highs in December 2020, at 23.4% share, up from 6.6% in December 2019. The Tesla Model 3 was the UK’s best selling auto of any kind in December, with 5,798 vehicles delivered. 2020’s overall plugin volumes grew 2.4x over 2019, despite the UK auto market being almost 30% down in volume.
December’s combined plugin share of 23.4% was strongly weighted towards pure battery electric vehicles (BEVs) at 16.5%, with plugin hybrids (PHEVs) contributing 6.9%. The full year contributions were more evenly weighted, with BEVs at 6.6% and PHEVs at 4.1%, for a 2020 total of 10.7% plugin share. This is up 3.5x from the 3.1% plugin share of full year 2019.

Tesla Superchargers are already open to other cars

This link :-
https://cleantechnica.com/2020/09/13/non-tesla-electric-cars-can-now-charge-for-free-on-some-european-tesla-superchargers
was slightly helpful but refers only to chargers within the EU (Please don't start another Brexit thread here !) . It also seems to suggest that for a non-Tesla to use a supercharger, the other manufacturer would need to have made some form of arrangement with Tesla as Superchargers don't seem to accept RFID cards or payment cards.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50
