58 GBP for a monthly 1 zone travel pass in Vancouver ($98), all of the buses are classed as 1 zone and I can use the skytrain and seabus after 6:30pm and at weekends going further out.
Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada

I am spending just under £500 a month on train & car parking + the 8 miles a day driving.

I could drive but it is 45 miles each way & work 5 minutes from the railway station - so prefer the train!

I have a choice between around £6-£7 in petrol or £21.90 return on the train for a 50 mile round trip.

And people wonder why people don't take public transport.

But are you including wear & tear on the car?

I could do as you do & drive - but catching the train is much easier & less stressful - don't have to deal with traffic or other drivers.

Around £40 a week, I'm hoping this will reduce to maybe £40 a month once I move closer to work.

I happily retired several years ago and until today hadn't looked at what the travel costs are and I am so glad I don't commute anymore

£522 a month and if the weather was really bad £2.25 a journey for a bus home instead of walking.

(all 678 parking spaces were in use this morning, a parking season ticket works out at £170 a month so with the train fares as well drivers would be paying almost £700 a month)

Estimate just up to £100 a month. Free parking also.
Don’t have to get out of bed until nearer 8am. Happy days! :)

Disadvantage - Back to eating lunch in the car if you rebel against working through so glad I drive in a way.

I drive. The time I drive severely affects the fuel economy - last 2 nights bad call I hit rushhour & went through £15 of fuel in 2 days - so today I am working from home & thinking more makes sense but my boss & colleagues might not be as happy. Also, office is central Manchester so over £1000 a year parking. Currently on a contract that is cheaper than day rates even if I don't go in, but that's city centre parking for you.

So, at a rough guess, £100 a month fuel ordinarily, plus ~£90 car parking & that's before tyres, depreciation, nervous wear & tear etc. Public transport (well, where I live) is expensive & unreliable but when we move to the New Office, I may change jobs or hours radically as I am getting tired of the commute. I love the work, but time in the office is tiring & expensive.
