I keep saying to them I just want to give a company money for what we are using.
The meter point numbers (MPN) appear to be for the flat across the landing, not my flat.
MPN tell me company 1 are the utility company (UT1).
UT1 say they are not, but do cover all the other flats and it's UT2 for my electric. (It appears my gas meter isn't actually really registered)
UT2 (who I've complained to) say not them, but they will get this sorted out between them, UT1 and MPN.
Because UT1 have put 3 flats under the building number, but not the flat numbers, MPN only have 3 properties.
I've worked out mine is the missing one of the 4 flats, because UT2 tried to set an account up, but that got stopped by the flat who are actually connected / identified by MPN eg not my flat.
A few months ago I found the letters from UT2 dumped on the floor, apologising for trying to do the transfer. It only had the building number and not flat number.
What's even 'funnier' is a debt letter has made its way to my flat from UT1, only it's got the two different ways of identifying the flats and so it could be either my flat or the person across the landing as it was identified by floor level and side of the building (my side) BUT flat letter (my landing neighbour), however the address the debt relates to is the building number!
So the postcode brings up the properties as (example) 1a, 1b, 1c and 1d.
MPN and UT1 identify it as 1, 1 and 1 (notice only 3 not 4 flats).
The council identify it as 1 1FL, 1 1FR, 1 2FL and 1 2FR (which means building number 1, 1st floor left, 1 first floor right and 1 2nd floor left / right).
As the postcode identifies us as (example) 1a, 1b, 1c and 1d, UT1 have to tell MPN to change their records, then someone has to check all the meters to make sure the right MPN is registered to the correct flat, once that is done, then my meters are registered and I get to pay someone.
Sounds simple doesn't it 😬
This is why I'm going to be emailing both MPN companies, UT1, UT2 and 0fg3m.
5 hours yesterday and I felt my BP rising, even trying to explain it now is making me angry ☹️Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
Thank you Skinty and Ren. I have done well, it would have been so easy to say nah, forget the savings I want X, Y and Z, will save next year, do the pension next year, but I didn't feel comfortable.
I've looked at my spreadsheet tonight and couldn't work out how I've saved this month (not going to reach my October target), but my savings have barely changed since I reconciled last month. Then I remembered I had the tyres to pay for, then the MOT today.
I set up my 2021 spreadsheet and moved the car pot away from the rest of my savings, so next year my savings will go up even if the car pot is up and down like a yo yo 🙈 it just won't be counted within my overall group of savings.
Having a CC means I don't have to worry about car repair bills while I'm filling that pot again. I also like being able to set plans up on it to spread the cost over 6 - 12 months, but clear it in 1 - 3 months 🤗
I've potentially mastered the art of positively juggling and allocating money.

I'm sorry you're going through so much hassle with your meters- I used to do business consumption reports at a big energy company and there were some right fuckups with the meters. One lady I remember was getting billed for two different meters- one of which nobody could find!
It does sound like they're on the right path to fixing it though, fingers crossed it doesn't take too long to get sorted.3 -
Thank you RiotLady, I'm cynical as I was told the same thing months ago 😬Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3

My goodness, what a faff with these companies! I still use a CC too, and just pay it off immediately when the payment appears on the account. I like the extra protection it gives you over a DC. I also cleared my expensive overdraft a few years ago by paying for things with a CC (0%) and then working down the debt before the deal ran out.3

Atrixa, I have promised myself never to have an overdraft (the APR on them now 🤯), loan or finance agreement, only ever a CC and mortgage; it's not worth the stress when I can save for things.
I've claimed the home working tax relief, that's in place until the end of this tax year. Will put the little extra into savings for this year and pension from January.
My S&S ISA transfer is on its way to my new provider, hopefully that will be in by payday then I can do a manual payment in. If not then I will start it up from November's pay.
TomBo went shopping, took the £20 vouchers I cashed in from my surveys. The receipt was long, but he managed to spend under £22 and got some reduced pork joints for under £1.50 each.
6 days until payday, £50 in the bank, breakdown cover comes out soon.
Had roast pork and veg for tea, pudding was after8 mouse.

It's £45 Skinty, just for the basic try and fix it, if not home / garage recovery. Don't need all singing all dancing cover.
Ren, I kept looking at it, knew it wasn't right, but couldn't think how to spell it, the alternative was moose but it clearly wasn't that either 😂
Decided to pop to the butcher today, needed to pick up his new price list and he has been putting some very tempting photos up on FB (£20).
On the way back I called into a charity shop, got a few things for the flat including a lovely picture of flowers, in a vase; that's now hanging in the second bedroom. Picked up a hat for me. What led me into the shop was a camping stool, I'm now the proud owner of that too 🤗
- it's very light so I can potentially carry it everywhere and fix it to my camera backpack 😃 (spent £13.50 on 5 items)
I 'borrowed' the money from savings to cover today's goodies and have decided from now on to put a bit less away each month. That way I'm not 'borrowing' from savings. I've saved quite ruthlessly for nearly 4 years, it's time I did allow a bit of pocket money.
TomBo wondered what I was up to when I got ready to go out, suitability impressed with what I picked up, then started laughing when I got changed back into my normal outfit 😂
Decided to colour my hair tonight, will need to buy some more dye payday. I also want to get some PJs.
We are going out to a forest tomorrow, subject to weather conditions. Photo opportunities and lunch on an open fire. We've not really done much adventuring since moving and I always do enjoy these kind of outings 🤗
My tax code has been updated already to account for the tax relief.
£48 in the bank (£3 is my real amount as the rest is my breakdown cover), 5 days until payday.
Having clootie dumpling and cream for supper, when TomBo gets home 😊
